But temporarily out of stock?

So we're probably looking at around October for this to come to physical media?

Sinners came out in theaters in April and was on disc this past week.

The standard edition is still available. That's what I opted for.

I don't see the appeal to buy it now with no release date announced.

The appeal is that you'll be able to get it when it comes out. Rather than having it unavailable for purchase at that time.

SteelBook is back on ... but it's $55.49.

Why So Blu? 07-14-25 10:15 PM

Re: SUPERMAN (2025): 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital

I'll get it when it hits $9.99. Definitely not a day 1 title.

Way too early to even think about getting a physical media release. This is going to have a theatrical run for at least 2 more months and then go to PVOD.

I almost ordered because FOMO, but Steelbook prices are asinine. I'll grab the regular edition for half the cost.

I get that sentiment. But I look at it like a collection. The only physical media I still buy are limited first run Steelbooks and Criterions. Basically, MCU, Pixar, DCU Steelbooks, along with event titles like Dune, Oppenheimer, Sinners. (Missed out on Wicked). That kind of stuff. Otherwise, I just buy cheap digital copies. I still like the artwork and heft of a Steelbook. Feels like something that is collectable in a way that a regular Blu Ray just isn't.

Re: SUPERMAN (2025): 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital

I like the look and feel of Steelbooks as well for my collection.

I have limited my 4K UHD purchases to only must-haves at this point and try to get the Steelbook of any release for them if there is one, but I always play the waiting game. Usually one will turn up on eBay at a decent price should it ever go out of print. Or I will just get the 4K standard version for cheap and then just buy an older BD Steelbook for cheaper and put the disc in that.

What is really crazy are the ones that you think will be limited, you pay 35 bucks for it and then Gruv is selling them later for 25 bucks with 15% or more off of that price! It is a crapshoot. You never know what is going to go out of print, reprinted or reissued with a different (and sometimes better looking) Steelbook. A lot of ones that get a reprint or show up easily available can be the most unexpected titles.

I figure if I can get it for 35 bucks or less, I would have paid almost that to see the movie in the theater, or possibly a lot more, if I factor in the cost of drinks, snacks, gas, time, a second/third ticket for my son and/or wife.

That's what I was doing, but they've priced me out.

We’re getting back to the days of VHS when a tape cost $99.

I'm not really crazy about the artwork they chose. It's coming to disc September 23. Will be on PVOD Friday

and it looks like Gunn's commentary will be a digital exclusive.

So don't sell your digital codes!!!

I'm glad to see there is at least an extensive documentary on the making of the movie at 1 hour.

I wonder when it will be on Max?

Re: SUPERMAN (2025): 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital

Well, Sinners, HBO was just about day & date with the Blu Ray release.
Final Destination : Bloodlines was a week after the Blu Ray release.
So likely right around the end of September

But those are high quality tapes like the video clerk told me when I asked him why it was so high.

Confirmed that the commentary, deleted scenes and gag reel are all digital exclusives.

Yeah there are a lot of physical media collectors who don't use digital codes and sell them off. So you're cutting them out on these features.

Probably part of the purpose of doing this is to get them to quit selling them.
