Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?
I’ve bought several films on VHS, DVD, Bluray, and 4k. Dont think i’ve ever bought the same movie more than once on a format.
ETA: actually got 2 versions of the star wars trilogy on vhs (one widescreen and full screen) Only one of the three i got on 4k was Empire so Empire is my most purchased. |
Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?

Halloween isn't far behind for me either.

Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?
Original Star Wars Trilogy and Scarface

Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?
Star Wars movies, Star Trek movies.
Some specific animated titles like Wall-E, I had the first DVD, then a used Blu-ray, then bought the Criterion 4K. I've bought more than a few versions of Army of Darkness on disc. I had the original 2 disc Anchor Bay set, which I sold to get the Blu-ray special edition. And I've recently been re-buying AoD just on cheap used DVD copies I happen to find. No reason, just for fun. |

Frankenstein (1931) and Dracula (1931). I've purchased 7 or 8 releases each of those 2 as they improved *something* with just about each new release (often something as minor as a word or two added back). I stopped with the BR editions as they're *finally* just about perfect.

I'm pretty sure the most number of copies I've bought of anything is five. There may be others, but the only ones I can remember for sure are coincidentally all Jet Li movies - Fist of Legend and Once Upon a Time in China I-III.
Fist of Legend: VCD, DVDx2, BD, UHD OUATIC1-3: DVDx3, BDx2 |
Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?
Pulp Fiction. I owned it on:
Pan n' Scan VHS Widescreen VHS Laserdisc Criterion Laserdisc DVD Blu-Ray So far I've held off on the 4k but typing this out & may as well make it complete. |
Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?
I own a lot of versions of Star Trek: Generations. VHS (widescreen version), the two disc DVD, Blu-ray (part of the TNG movie Blu-ray collection), and the 4K.
Also the Back to the Future Trilogy. VHS of all three, the DVD box set, and the Blu-ray box set. Eventually want to upgrade to 4K. |

Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?
Time Bandits, because it's my favorite movie. I've been grabbing every edition of it. Have 15 across all formats currently.

Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?
Because of DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K, a large part of my collection is easily 3 times, and often 4 or 5, due to double dips.
But, I can only think of a few titles that have hit 6 times: Toy Story: 2x laserdisc, 1x DVD, 1x Blu-ray, 1x Blu-ray 3D, 1x 4K Dr. Strangelove: 1x laserdisc, 2x DVD, 2x Blu-ray, 1x 4K Silence of the Lambs: 2x DVD, 2x Blu-ray, 2x 4K Star Wars has hit 7 times, and would have hit 8 but I haven't bought the 4K. I can't think of anything else that's hit 7 times: Star Wars trilogy: 4x laserdisc, 2x DVD, 1x Blu-ray |
Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?
Army of Darkness. 12 different releases across physical digital mediums.
|
Re: Which movie have you bought the most incarnations of?
It's a tie between Star Wars and Empire at 10. (CED, VHS, WS VHS, SE VHS, DVD (2x), Blu-ray, 4K (official), Despecialized editions, 4K77/4K80). For the record and official accounting, I never owned Jedi on CED.
