The Untouchables 4K

Coming May 31th for the 35th Anniversary. Should easily blow the DNR'd Blu-Ray out of the water.

Standard art:

And Steelbook:

Standard wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for those awful hands photoshopped in. Steelbook looks a bit too much like a western personally thought the "Aged 35 Years" is clever.

It’s been in UHD on digital for a while. Much better picture and sound. Not reference, but still the best offering we’ve been given up until now.

Re: The Untouchables 4K

I only have The Untouchables on special edition DVD from many years ago. So I would be game for a UHD disc upgrade. I wonder if Paramount is going to have any new content or will it strictly be legacy bonus material.

Re: The Untouchables 4K

Bill Hunt stated he confirmed it’s legacy extras only.

Re: The Untouchables 4K

I figured it would. Connery is dead. Costner is busy with Yellowstone and De Palma rarely does extras and hasn't been seen much lately. It would probably not be worth it with that Legacy content already made.

It is missing the baby carriage. Wait, that was Naked Gun :D

I hope that cover art is a huge troll.

Is this official from Paramount, or did you Photoshop the hands out?

Amazon has the updated artwork posted.

The first art posted looked like a first-person shooter from two generations ago.

Hmm, I had just convinced myself I didn’t need the upgrade but now I’m wavering. It’s not a film I watch often, but I enjoy it.

Re: The Untouchables 4K

It’s a catalog Paramount title and not MA. So like just about every other Paramount title like this, the digital will be $4.99 in the next month or two and the disc will drop in price as well. So if you like it enough, I think it’s well worth it. What caught my attention was the opening title sequence (and arguably one of Ennio Morricone’s best songs ever) and the overall punch of the layered sound in Atmos. Very well done overall.

Is it just remastered 4K coming out?

I've always loved the opening.

Yes. Paramount has basically stopped releasing remastered Blu-Rays

$5.00 on Vudu it will be when on sale...

I think it was in a 3/$15 sale last week. I’ll consider it next time.

It's still awful. The actors are so clearly photoshopped at the top of the stairs (Andy Garcia is especially noticeable).

Whatever. I'm not looking at the cover 99.99999% of the time. But it's still ugly.

It’s funny, I’ve never refrained from purchasing a release solely because of it’s artwork, but I have definitely made purchases because of it.
