I wasn't freaking out, but no harm in just cancelling and re-ordering just in case. Anyway, decent deal now, esp since I sold my Steelbook offsetting some of the cost.

That means they sold out of their preorder allotment. Probably going to be awhile if they can sell anymore if they can get more.

So I assume if you have your order in, you're good to go? I don't pre-order a whole lot and never anything that sold out.

TheMovieman, Amazon is really good about making sure that folks who got their orders in before they sold out of their expected allotment of sets actually get their order. I did not even think for a moment that i would not get my order because I even checked my order invoice again and yeah...my order is locked-in.

I missed the GB Steelbooks that I probably hemmed and hawed a bit too long to pick up and they turned into hot tamales on the secondary market, so I was not about to make that same mistake twice. I love the first GB, and I even really like the second film, and the new film got me in the feels and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I think I may already have the digital copy of the 2016 GB (which was a pleasant enough film, but I tend to stay away from the sites that spewed a lot of hate at this film but I am aware it is a divisive film), but it can't hurt that a digital copy will be included (and maybe even offer me a picture quality upgrade when I redeem, if the dig copy is still blu only and already in my collection, then a family member gets the code, but maybe it will redeem in UHD, which I believe is a step below 4K on Vudu).

ETA: It turns out that I have GB/GB II in a digital format but not the 2016 film.

I just don’t get hate for 16 version. I thought it played well. Sure, it tinkled a bit in the original, but thought it was fun and the girls did have chemistry. Plus, the 3D is amazing. But I don’t get the live for 2 at all. I’ve seen it bits and pieces and it’s not great. I’ll have to see again. All again actually, but thought 2016 was leagues better than 2. The MacNichol character was annoying and Vigo and the whole baby thing took it to a bad level. Anyway, it’ll be fun to revisit them all. Even 2016.

I know I am spamming this thread, but instead of simply updating my post a few posts upthread, I just want to say whew, so glad I got my order in. It is still showing as unavailable and I am a wee bit paranoid so I clicked on the order in my Amazon order history and the tell that I have nothing to worry about is that my order with the price I paid of $99.99 shows on the page, but clicking the title takes you to the page with the unavailable message, so I am indeed locked-in.

I do not know what it is with the GB series, but for a series that up until 2016 only had 2 films as part of the franchise and is quite divisive (many want to disown the 2nd GB, and as E Unit put it, some folks treat the GB 2016 like Voldemort as he who must not be named, although in this case it should be she instead of he) the blu ray releases would get snatched up right quick and are quite popular (the OG blu release of GB 1 & 2 is still available, but the steelbooks are indeed now collector items). You have the first blu release, then you had the steelbooks that sold out in a New York Minute, and now this set goes on sale and whaddaya know, it sells out, lol!!

Last post for a while, at least from me, in this thread.

Pretty soon they'll come out with the set without the useless trap. Maybe even a nice steelbook.

I'm sort of a bit relieved that this sold out. I definitely want the content, but I don't want to pay extra to be saddled with that packaging. There was a time I would have loved it, but I'd just prefer the discs now.
