So I'm starting to worry Sony is going to cave further to Paul Feig and the losers on Twitter over GB 2016 not being in this set. If it's just a digital copy that is separate from the three films I can live with that. I'll trash that piece of paper and not think anything else of it. If they somehow include those disc's at the last minute. That would be a giant FU to the actual fans of Ghostbusters and Sony will loose any goodwill they gained from Ghostbusters Afterlife. I'd likely cancel my preorder.

I'm definitely interested in this, but could do without the fancy-schmancy packaging. I'd rather just have a simple boxed set of the three movies and their extras.
Too much to ask that they might do this in a later pressing of this set?

It’s currently $99.99 on Amazon.ca… which would be around $78 USD.

I guess my point was if that is the price they have it listed as, the US should hopefully be comparable soon.

I can't quite justify another dip of these movies. The preview cut sounds interesting. TV broadcast versions sound pointless.
It's always annoying when they hold back things like deleted scenes so they can sell us a movie a second or third time.

Looks like Sony wants to compete with Criterion for least pratical packaging for discs. It certainly is a contender.
I'll wait for the inevitable standard release. Mostly likely a hard card box housing 3 individual swing tray cases. That will do nicely.

Criterion isn’t the best, but it’s fine overall. This stupid set is more akin to Arrow and the imported Studio Canal sets.

I thought Arrows Battle Royale LE was a stunner. Though I believe it got heavily re sold on Ebay. So I'll assume I'm in the minority with that opinion.
Yeah SC have some errr interesting ideas. Oh no our Elephant Man LE is lacking! What ever shall we do? Stick some velcro and a popup on the front cover. Oh what a fantastic solution.
The Lady Killers set I thought almost gets everything right...but the discs are still housed in a quad. Same with the Flash set. SC and their quad obsession.
I wouldn't be surprised if their staff signed up for a gym membership, and all they worked on was their quads. They are that quad obsessed.

Funny how much grief I got for complaining about the Godzilla packaging. Only for those same people to start complaining shortly after the packaging was failing.
I mean it's like Criterion don't get a Blu-ray disc uses the hard coat spec because the data layer is closer to the surface. They think it's superfluous protection which allows for all these packaging designs they come up with. Arrow at least have some concept of this. With only a couple of instances where they have housed discs in book packaging to my knowledge.

The 3D in GB2016 was fun. A friend recommended it and I'm glad I saw it that way. The way they framed the movie at 2.35 but projected it at 1.85 with the 3D proton pack streams extending beyond the 2.35 image was one of the rare times I really thought 3D was worth it. I never bother otherwise.

Hell yes, the early 2000s are back, baby! DVDTalk heyday renaissance!
While that is an impressive list of features, and I do like the trap case, I am shocked at the balls of asking $150 for one good movie that is 35+ years old, one new movie, and one piece of hot trash. Yeah, I said it, GB2 is hot trash.
I can’t think of the last time we have seen something like this. I’m a sucker for these “case releases” even though I can rarely afford them.

Yeah it's suppose to be a comedy. I think.

It is now $99.99 at Amazon US (they seem to be matching Target, which is sold out of pre-orders).

Kind of odd because a couple other pre-orders I made did adjust to the lower price.

No harm to cancelling and re-ordering.

If you think the 2016 Ghostbusters ruined the franchise you probably forgot what Ghostbusters II was like.
