It's surprising how many fairly high-profile films have never been released on Blu-ray by Paramount, at least in North America.

Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
I read that Jerry Bruckheimer oversaw the 4K remaster of Flashdance for this series
and Adrian Lyne also oversaw the 4K remaster of Fatal Attraction So the BDs at least those 2 are taken from new 4K remasters, not just some hackjob re-package. |
Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
Fatal Attraction now priced at $22.99.

Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
The flashy packaging is designed with one goal in mind - catching the eye of casual retail consumers at chains like Walmart and Target. It's not really aimed at people like us that likely already own these movies.

Then why bother remastering instead of just repacking the older discs? Why use spine numbers? They're copying other boutique labels that collectors buy into.

I'd buy if they released Days of Heaven or The Conversation... and was priced at $5.
|
Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
I would pay a premium if they release The Dead Zone or Atlantic City.

On a side note, I remember babysitting way back when and I rented that Warriors PlayStation game, which was friggin awesome...Hell, I wouldn't mind if they updated it with better graphics and sound and just re-released it on the current gen's console systems...It was really immersive and was a great use of the franchise...

Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
When will the Days of Thunder release come out? That makes sense now why a bluray won't be included on the 4k release. Also Flashdance comes out on May 19th.

The UHD is 5/19, so probably that day too.

Where is Heaven Can Wait? It never even gotten a Blu Ray release!

Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
Packaging looks super-flimsy. Like the old Alien Quadrilogy packaging.
|
Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
Ghost and Airplane are next for this line coming out on June 30th.

Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
These new release are stripping away previous special features, sound options, and even subtitles.

I hope they eventually add Young Sherlock Holmes.

A guy I watch on YouTube unboxed the first batch of these and they have a slipcover that folds down to show the poster art for the film. There’s a standard clear Blu-ray case with artwork that’s on the outside and inside.

Yeah, they're nice. Shame some features were dropped from the previous Blu-ray releases, however.

Wow, every one of those screencaps looks better in the 2012 Blu Ray version.
Which is why I'm keeping the original BD and hoping for a good 4K release at some point. |

Yea, but that packaging... right?!!

Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
The slipcase construction looks similar to the individual 100th anniversary Universal bluray movie releases from 2012.
Nothing special here. Move along. ;) |
Re: Paramount Presents - new label launching 4/21/20
The ones that I might be interested in are Fatal Attraction, Flashdance. But, $23 is a little pricey for me for a 30+ year old movie.

And FA leaves out extras content. Not sure about FD, but don’t think worth it. Same audio on all sounds like...

Eh, I think with these reviews, better off not bothering for any. I have them on blu and digital and those will suffice...

To Catch a Thief was released almost 10 years ago on BD. I have it.
