STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
Pre-ordered the 3D Blu-ray steelbook from Zavvi yesterday. Might not even bother seeing this at a theater since there are none left that compare to where I first saw the original movie.

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
When the Target one says "exclusive bonus content", do they mean on-disc, or online/streaming?

But I'm definitely getting it for that cover art. |
Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
That Target exclusive cover is cool in that it’s mimicking the poster for A New Hope. I might wind up buying the complete saga box set though. Plus I generally don’t buy exclusive releases (prefer packaging to be uniform).

Most likely online/streaming/ Once upon a time Target had exclusive discs, but then switched to online content since then. |
Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
Which you can conveniently access through Target Ticket ;)

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
I believe Skywalker will hit video the end of March.

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
Enough with the Star Wars already.

The exclusive disc is a DVD. :(

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
Still getting the Target version, isn't the stuff on the bonus discs usually pretty fluffy?

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
When it comes to these bonus discs, I don't really care that they're DVDs and not blu-rays. They're usually just a couple of behind-the-scenes things that are nice to have but don't have much replay value.
Really, unless bonus features are nicely produced features, I really don't care if they're in SD or HD. |
Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
I’m getting the Zavvi SteelBook 3D. I have all others in 3D, had to finish off. I didn’t care about SteelBook, but I have TLJ, so whatever...

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
FWIW, the Target bonus disc for Force Awakens had about 20 minutes of content ("The Scavenger & the Stormtrooper: A Conversation with Daisy Ridley and John Boyega" and "Inside the Armory", both of which were later included in the 3D collector's edtion) and The Last Jedi only had a 6 minute featurette (Meet the Porgs).

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
Do we have a date? Can we add it to the title?
|
Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
I'll probably get the Target version with the bonus disc.
My guess is this comes out around March. That Target version will probably be over $30. |
Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker
Target has it on pre-order for $34.99.

On March 31, coinciding with the physical release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, eight Star Wars films are being released on 4k Blu-ray for the first time: Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Bonus material includes a feature-length, making-of documentary, which goes behind the scenes with the cast and filmmakers from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and explores the legacy of the Skywalker saga. Bonus features also dig into the film's Pasaana desert scenes, including the thrilling landspeeder chase, and the ship in which Rey discovers family secrets as well as a new little droid named D-O. Plus, fans will hear from Warwick Davis, who reprises his role as Wicket the Ewok, as well as the creature effects team that created a record 584 creatures and droids for the film. Digital consumers will receive an exclusive feature highlighting legendary composer John Williams, who has scored every episode in the Skywalker saga. Special Features:

No commentary from JJ? I had to double dip TFA to get that one, hope'd I could avoid it here.
But I'm getting the Target exclusive for that cover art. |
Re: Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker -- 3/31/20
I like Star Wars.
