I watched the hell out of these as a kid, then when Boomerang started showing them, I watched some of them again. A lot of them don’t really hold up well. I dunno, if it drops into the $40 range, I may pick it up for my kids.

Wait, so the series ran for 9 years (1969 - 1978) and there were only 41 episodes?

I used to love the show when I was a kid, the new Scooby Doo series’ just don’t have the same magic that “...Where are You?” did.

No, "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" was 25 episodes over 2 seasons (1969-1970).

Looks like they included Season 3 of the "Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour (1978)" series for the other 16 episodes.

Edit: Wikipedia says this about the latter 16, although the epguides.com listing has the other 16 episodes as I mentioned above.

In 1978, a selection of episodes from the later series Scooby's All-Stars and The Scooby-Doo Show were aired on ABC under the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! name and they were released in a DVD set marketed as its third season

Damn right they included Dynomutt!

Thanks. That makes sense.

Im going to wait and see if this set gets a decent price reduction or is released in a standard edition that doesn’t include the haunted house packaging, encyclopedia, or funko figure (which looks more like Scrappy than Scooby).

Yeah, I want a standard packaging edition too. Once that’s available I’ll pick this up for sure though. I wouldn’t mind the Pop, but it doesn’t look like Scooby to me.

I’d like something like this but that price tag is a killer. I can wait for a cheap, barebones edition.

Zoinks! $73 for 4 blu rays, a doll and a book? I find it odd that the press release doesn't mention anything about the main selling point: that this will be available on an HD format for the first time. Was it remastered in HD from additional elements? Or just a port of the DVD version on less discs?

Warner would never issue SD on Blu-ray. They'll be remastered for HD.

This came out this week. Looks like a nice set but I wish the price was lower on it. I know if I grab it for $80 it’ll drop lower. I paid full price for The New Scooby-Doo Movies: The (Almost) Complete Collection and it’s dropped considerably a few times since I got it.

Did the Scooby-gang unmask the culprit of Fred's stolen eyebrow?

Lovely set though I hate the bundling of shit plastic like funko pop.

Standard packaging + cheap price = instant purchase

Lots of complaints about DNR on the video and questionable compression. Haven't seen it myself, so can't confirm.

Yes. The Blu-rays look really bad in comparison to the non-DNR'd Amazon stream.

This dropped to $70. Getting a bit closer to where I want to be with buying it. If it hits between $50 and $60 I’ll jump on it.

It's also part of the B2G1 at Target. Comes to about $47.

Re: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: The Complete Series Blu-ray -- 9/3/19

As bad is the Blu-ray looks in comparison to the Amazon streams, there is no way I'd even pay for the blu-ray even if it went on some extreme 95% off sale.

Mike86 12-19-19 04:59 PM

Re: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: The Complete Series Blu-ray -- 9/3/19

This dropped to $53.99 on Amazon. About where wanted to be with it, but wish it would dip a bit lower. If it’s still that price after the holidays I’ll probably grab it though.

This is $36.99 for Prime Day. Finally low enough to get me to bite.
