I went 4K three days ago and I loved this version of Alien. Now we just have to wait another 30 years for Cameron to get around to doing Aliens.

Does the standard BD in this release have the improvements everyone has spoken on, such as improved Color Timing and non-cropped frames?

No. the Bd is the same disc as the 2010 release (and followup stand alones).

Thank you!

I haven't gone 4K yet (maybe next year).

Hey, the water's warm...what ya waitin' for?!?

FWIW, the Alien 4K UHD disk is excellent and at 15 bucks is a steal.

That's true, I could potentially buy it now just to have it on my shelves.

I'm trying to buy a house or condo next year, which would give me more space.

I could then invest in a bigger TV and one with 4K/UHD/HDR.

I would say where 4K resolution comes into its own is above 60".
However, the HDR formats (HDR10, HDR10+, DolbyVision) can be appreciated at any screen size.
I have a 75" and sit at about 10 ft.
It seems good for me.

If I manage to buy a new place next year, I'm definitely thinking of upgrading to a 65"+ set if possible!
