Evil Dead ('13) - unrated edition finally coming to Blu-ray
 

An unrated edition of Evil Dead started making the rounds on digital platforms a couple years back, but it's finally making its way to Blu-ray. The differences -- 27 in all -- are detailed on movie-censorship.com.

As you can tell from the cover, the set includes both cuts. Coming October 23rd.

While I'm happy about this news, it irks me that the theatrical copy I own is a pretty slick steelbook, and this, is not.

While I'm sure the 4m50s of added footage is worth it, and I wouldn't mind owning it, I paid $3 for the R-Rated BD at BigLots a couple of years ago. Maybe when it makes its rounds and becomes available for nearly as cheap as the theatrical BD I own, I'll pick it up. But until then I think I'll be OK with the one I have. Damn them for wanting people to double-dip though.

It includes more special features too, including the content from the Best Buy exclusive bonus disc.

This is great news for folks who are not Region-Free or did not pick-up the Unrated/Extended Cut Blu-Rays that were released in Germany & Sweden last year.

I previously owned the Target Exclusive Steelbook BD of the film but for $18, I added the BD from Sweden to my shelves last year.

I'm probably going to wait until the next time I see the unrated cut for sale on VUDU. I think the only thing new included is the Unrated cut and I already have the bluray with the Best Buy bonus disc.

Somebody going to put this into Aficionado?

If not, I can try to do it tomorrow night after work. If there's another region release that I can copy the extras from that's already in their database, point it out and I can use it as a baseline.
