Women In Prison Blu-ray movies?

I could only find 2 at Amazon:

Violence In A Women's Prison
Women's Prison Massacre

Is there anything else out there or planned for the future?

The first thing I thought about was that Women in Cages set that Shout Factory put out a while back. It includes The Big Bird Cage, Big Doll House and Women in Cages.

I have that one DVD.

Did that make it on Blu-ray?

I will check at Amazon.

Edit:Yep it's there. Only problem is they want 33 bucks.

I can't remember what I paid, but it was less than that. Probably not by a lot, though. Those Corman series Blu-rays never seem to get discounted much.

I just put that one and the three other's on my Amazon wishlist.

Been buying a lot of Vinyl LPs lately and not much money leftover for movies.

There's also The Concrete Jungle. The site does have sales from time to time.

I love the Filipino WIP films, and I think one of the better ones is "Black Mama, White Mama" starring Pam Grier and Sid Haig. Arrow put out a nice edition which I believe is worth your time.

Re: Women In Prison Blu-ray movies?

I've had the Shout Three movie Jack Hill set for about three or four years now and still haven't gotten around to watching one movie from it.

WIP is a genre I enjoy more in theory than actual practice. Most of the films I've seen have been pretty damn tedious.

The few exceptions would be the Female Prisoner Scorpion films (though I guess only the first two are technically WIP).

Easily my favorite of the genre is Sweet Sugar, for which VS put out an excellent edition of.

Terminal Island, while not technically a WIP, still features female convicts on an island prison. One of the more watchable convict v convict movies.

Code Red put out an edition of TI from weaker elements- but it's relatively inexpensive. VS said they have the rights and much better elements, but are taking their time getting around to it because they felt CR depleted any demand for it with their release. It still might be coming in 2019 if I read the hints rights.

Re: Women In Prison Blu-ray movies?

I highly recommend the Female Prisoner Scorpion films starring Meiko Kaji. The transfers in the Blu-ray box set released by Arrow are very disappointing, however. The contrast is blown out and everything is covered in a blue tint. The Discotek and Media Blasters DVDs, if you can find them, are still the best versions available on disc.
