Community: The Complete Series coming to Blu-ray - 10/2/18

Courtesy of Mill Creek:

First time released in HD on Blu-ray!

Featuring all 110 Episodes in glorious High Definition!

Community is a smart, exuberant comedy that was consistently ranked as one of the most inventive and original half hours on television. This ensemble comedy centers on a tight-knit group of friends who all met at what is possibly the world's worst educational institution -Greendale Community College.

Recently disbarred lawyer Jeff Winger enrolls to get a legit degree the quickest and easiest way possible, but when he starts a fake Spanish study group solely for the purpose of hooking up with a sexy classmate, he doesn’t expect to be joined by a random group of misfit fellow students. Over the course of the next 6 years, this group finds themselves involved in epic paintball battles, chicken finger conspiracies, sci-fi conventions, campus-wide pillow wars, and everything in-between. In the process, they become so much more than just a study group…they become a family.

Wow, $100 MSRP. And this is Millcreek, so they will probably dump all the extras from the DVD sets and make this barebones.

Not exactly a show that screams "must have" on BD. I think I have seasons 1-4 on DVD, but never got 5 and 6. Hell, I never watched season 6 when it originally aired on Yahoo. I know it's on Hulu now, but I still haven't gotten around to it.

Same here. (Well, I know I have 1-4. Never rewatched 4 even though I bought the darn thing.)

I always said I'd get a complete series set if there were ever one on Blu-ray, so I guess now I have to put up or shut up. If the extras aren't carried over, that could be a dealbreaker, though. Otherwise, I might as well stream.

This will probably be under $40 pretty quickly, at least. Miami Vice has the same MSRP (and way more discs!) and is routinely around $35 online.

I love this series, but with it streaming in hd, what’s the point? Hate swapping discs and stuff. Digital is the future...

To own digitally, the complete series is $100 on Vudu right now.

https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...Bundle-/922445

It's on Hulu in HD if you have a subscription, however the license is probably not going to last forever.

Yes, I meant Hulu. It’ll be there until I get to it. I’m not worried...

I feel like if this was 3-4 years ago I would have insta-bought something like this. Now i'm not sure I care enough.

One of the few shows I would buy on Blu-ray, although without the special features I'm not so sure...

Yeah, until Hulu lists it as expired one day and then you can no longer watch them. That's happened to me on a few Hulu things. I like my Hulu subscription but counting on stuff to stay around? Good f'ing luck. Also, the "digital future" can go where the sun doesn't shine.

I have the first five season on DVD. I never got around to getting the 6th one because its been routinely at $20 and most dvd tv shows, I'll spend $15 max.

With that said, I am willing to get this around the $40-$50 mark but it better have subtitles. I can live with the extras gone, but subtitles is a deal breaker.

Was gonna say DAY ONE for me until I saw it the MSRP. But seeing as it's Mill Creek, I'll get it when it drops to under $50. Even without any extras.

Also, nothing personal to anyone here, but FUCK your digital future!

You realize even if HULU loses the rights one day, Community could be on Netflix? Or Amazon Prime? Or any other streaming service?

OR *GULP* you could just buy it digitally and watch it on multiple platforms you own instead of just a Blu-ray player and TV.

I never got around to buying any seasons on DVD nor did I watch after NBC, so I'll definitely pick this up once the price drops.

It will never be MSRP.

It will be $50 or less quickly. MSRP is rarely the real price anyway.

You can usually acquire brand-new Mill Creek stuff at 55% off if you are smart.

Are you sure? I just went to the mall and preordered at Suncoast Motion Picture Company and it was exactly MSRP.

I’d hold off on CC. I hear that Best Buy has an exclusive one size fits all Greendale T-Shirt that’s shrink wrapped to the packaging for which you’ll never get the wrinkles out, no matter how hard you iron it.

Even though we have all seasons on DVD and in Digital HD UV, when this low enough, they'll likely get us to buy.
