Is this today? I forgot to pre-order anything.
Do all versions have both cuts? |

Yes and Yes. Might want to stop by a store today if you're interested in any of the exclusives. They could go fast.

I don’t want to read your spoilers just yet, but was this cut better than theatrical?

Edit to add: In the future when I rewatch, I'll most likely continue watching the extended cut. Nothing against the theatrical, just more of it. After you watch it, here is a nice review of the additional stuff. https://nerdist.com/deadpool-2-super-duper-cut-review/ |
Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
I'm leaning towards holding off on getting this until the disc drops in price. I got the free digital HD copy as I mentioned earlier in this thread and it has the exact same content as the disc. So I don't really need it right now. And I don't want to spend $30 on it right now (tax included) I think I'm going to wait until the 4K UHD drops to $15 or less in about 3 months. I gotta show some self restraint.

Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
Personally I went for the Target exclusive because the book looks pretty cool and unique. Should be arriving today.

4K from BB arrived today

Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
Damn, I missed this in theaters and I'm guessing that's a spoiler on the back of the steelbook.

Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
I’m really done hunting for the store exclusives. I just got the regular 4k, I bought it now to make sure I got a slipcover.
|
Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
Do people still care about slipcovers?

Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
I basically got all the Scream Factory steelbooks for free and even pocketed a couple bucks, just by selling the same discs with the original OOP slipcovers.

Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
I usually like director's cuts and such with extra footage, but one glaring difference I noticed here between both cuts that almost makes me prefer the theatrical cut:

And I do think it makes the shelf look better with the squared sides showing the title instead of the curved side. |

Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
Yeah, that audio replacement seems weird because the scene actually mirrors elements of the video for "Take on Me"

Waiting for the price to be < $25 before buying...

I did like "Fly Like An Eagle" a lot more than the original cue. |
Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
Robert Harris LOVED it.....I think.
https://www.hometheaterforum.com/com...1#post-4644075 "Three of the finest films to ever grace the silver sheet have had a running time of 222 minutes. Gone with the Wind, Lawrence of Arabia, and now... The Super Duper Cut of Deadpool 2, one of those extremely rare Marvel productions. While it plays a bit long - the short cut runs only 119 - it gives the viewer the character arcs and multiple nuances necessary to really understand the storyline, and character mindsets. While some viewers have found the film self-indulgent, and filled with a bit too much wink-wink-nudge-nudge, breaking the fourth wall humour, those with higher educations will readily catch the various references that play out through the film, to lesser known Shakespearian dramas, along with the best of Ibsen, Chekov and, and more for the handful of four letter utterances, the best of Mamet. References to lesser films in cinema history also abound. Best to take notes. While much of the film moves slowly, especially for a Marvel production, what it adds to the world of classic cinema is undeniable. With a myriad of effects, it must be noted, in this day of overwrought digital work, that much like the 1992, Bram Stoker's Dracula, every one of the delicately honed effects is fully produced in the analogue world. You'll find nothing so crass here, as the teeming tens of thousands of creatures attacking our heroes in the latest Avengers outing. In Deadpool 2, it's all rear-screen projection, practical effects, and rotoscoping. As a disc, Fox's new 4k is quite beautiful, with layers of original teal subtlety captured from the original three-strip (acetate) cinematography. Deadpool 2 is a wonder to behold - it's original screenplay (no sequel here) from the quills of Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Ryan Reynolds, probably best known for his acting in Van Wilder: Party Liaison, back in 2002. It all proves what a difference a copy of Screenwriter, or Final Draft can do. Audio is huge, with the original recordings being transferred directly from the 32" wax cylinders to digital domain, and the final mix in Dolby Atmos. This is one big fillum. Finished in 2k, the 4k release, looks as good as the 2k original. Just keep repeating... 4k 4k 4k Image - 5 (Teal-O-Vision) Audio - 5 (Dolby Atmos) Pass / Fail - Pass RAH" |

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=24412 I didn't bother seeing this in the theater. I may pay for a digital rental just to see it, but it's unlikely I would purchase this. |
Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
I’m game. I love alternate versions.
|
Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
I didn't get a chance to see this in theaters, so a rental will probably be for me too.
|
Re: DEADPOOL 2: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray
So it's a barebones release of an alternate cut? You would think they'd at least put some new special features on it to make it more enticing.
Well, I'm a Marvel whore, so I'm sure I'll pick it up at some point, not until it's like $5 or less though. |
