Powerhouse Indicator releases
Didn't see a thread related to this company's releases, only a few threads devoted to specific titles and/or particular boxed sets, so hopefully this won't step on anyone's toes, but I think their releases are worthy of discovery and discussion under their own banner, especially considering how many are region-free.

The Sony titles from Indicator are Region Free. The Universal's, or at least the first few batches IIRC, had to be locked.
I love Indicator. They are a superlative label up there with the best of the best, if not "The" best. I already have Commanche Station via a German Bd, but if this set ends up being discounted to the usual £42.99 on Amazon.uk, I'll waste no time in ordering it. ALL of these are great films and have a breezy re-watchability factor IMO. |

Their Hammer Volume 1 and Volume 2 sets are phenomenal. Both are region free (anything to do with Sony?) and miles ahead of how the films were treated in the U.S. (where they're essentially Mill Creek filler now).

The only Indicator sets given much discussion hereabouts are the three Harryhausen boxes, but the company seems to be on track for a good long run, fingers crossed.

I have Ghosts of Mars and Anderson Tapes so far and will pick up Eyes of Laura Mars in the near future. From the two I have, they are right up there with Twilight Time and Criterion in release quality. I really wanted Blue Collar but that's one of the locked ones unfortunately.

Not familiar enough with the Fuller films to put in an order just yet, But I pounced on the other two as soon as they went up.
I already have the German Blu for China Syndrome and I don't think the PQ/AQ will differ all that much- but it's a favorite film and the double dip will be worth it for the extras and booklet. Been wanting to see Modern Romance again for a while now. Always expected it would get a Mill Creek or TT release here. Much happier to be getting it from Indicator. |

In his latest Cinesavant column, Glenn Erickson noted that Indicator quietly announced a special edition of THESE ARE THE DAMNED for later this year. Can't find much info beyond that mention, but that should be a must-have.

It's speculated it will be part of another Hammer box, this one Sci-Fi orientated (w/ some Quatermass probably)
I've been able to cut back on a much of my DVD/Bd buying compared to years past. The exception has been importing (which sucks as the Dollar is currently weak). Indicator titles seem to be part of every order I make now. And Curse of The Demon still hasn't been announced yet. |

I knew the didn't have the first and "...& The Pit", but I thought they might have had some of in betweens.
Hmmm. Maybe it'll get tossed in another thriller set with Scream Of Fear and Two Faces Of Dr Jekyll ? Then again, maybe it's just a solo release padded out with some nice extras as Savant mentions. |

Forgot to mention in the previous post that Powerhouse's email blast contained a "coming soon" tease at the bottom featuring a photo of William H. Macy from David Mamet's OLEANNA. Savvy timing with this one, given that both the film and the play are probably more relevant today than they were back in the 1990's.

^ very entertaining set of films. Still available to pre-order at Amazon UK (£37.49 + shipping).
Will have to pass on the Hammer set for now. I like Granger and Simmons, so I'm interested in Footsteps... which I haven't seen before, but that will have to wait a while too. If we're already up to July, then I guess whatever I already have on order at AmUK is going to be it for the summer for me. Good thing too as I really need to cut back. |

So stoked for NotD/CotD! It's been a long time in coming. Never would have expected it to take 12 years since the format's introduction. Looks like it should be worth the wait though.

Some of my absolute favorite old horror titles there! I hate to pay more than $10 a film, but I’m in. And actually, if you count each cut as a separate film, there are 11 films included in that bundle....

Apparently Powerhouse has upped the print run on their NIGHT OF THE DEMON set to 10,000 copies (from 6000) based on the response to pre-orders. Rather impressive in this day and age. :)
