Target exclusive. Photos of the front, spine, and back at the reddit link.

I guess this is real? Kind of strange to be announced only two weeks before it's released.

I'm all over it if its real. I wish Netflix would step up their physical media releases.

Kind of cool but I wonder how the discs are housed.

2010 Gizmo would be like DAAAAAAAMN. GIMMEE
2017 Gizmo is like It's in 4K on Netflix. Pass.

But that is a REALLY cool looking set. Looks like its BD+DVD for a TV Show?

Any word of a standard case BD release at other stores? Not needing that case or the DVD's. But if that's all there is, I'm in. Then I find another home for the DVD's.

I have never seen the show, but I might have to buy it just for the packaging that looks really cool. I checked Target's website, its not on there yet.

I admit this looks neat, and I zoomed in on the pic and it also looks legit. A member of that site said their store was getting something like 15 boxes (150 units), so if this is Target Exclusive with a mass distribution of copies per store I might be able to grab this on my lunch hour before it sells out. If it has good behind the scenes stuff I may open it, but if not I might just leave it sealed on my shelves at it would look cool next to my art books, etc..

Looks like it contains both the Blu-ray and DVD editions, so it'll be a pretty hefty set with 8 discs in it. Hopefully the case is designed well, to hold all those discs. Very cool design choice for the outside!

It looks like a four-disc set, not eight. Two BD and two DVD.

If it's $25 like the thread claims, it's an insta-buy. However, there's no pre-order available on the Target website when we are less than two weeks from street date. As the kids on the show might say, "I roll to disbelieve."

I just noticed the yellow sticker on the front package, and it brought back memories. Man, this better be real!

I have my doubts that the 10/17 release date is accurate even if this does eventually come out as pictured.

Hoping I'll be able to get a copy from a B&M store directly.

A minor observation in terms of potential authenticity: Blu-ray is spelled "Blu-Ray" with a capital R on the sticker. Recent exclusives, like Ghost in the Shell and Transformers: The Last Knight, have had the orientation correct. Could totally still be real, and hoping it is despite how unlikely the abrupt street date and that pricing makes it seem, but I thought I'd throw in my $.02 for what my eyes see.

New season starts a little over a week after 10/17 so the date makes sense.

Of course it does form that perspective. But since it's not listed anywhere on their site, or advance ads, I still have my doubts that it's coming on that date.

If it's already sitting in Target stockrooms, why wouldn't it come out by then?

1) We don't know for sure that the image is legit. The sources that could confirm the image - advance ads, pre-orders, etc. - do not.

2) Special packaging cost the retailer money, so they're used as a loss-leader to get asses in stores. Therefore, they tend to be promoted heavily ahead of time. This one has not been.

I wouldn't consider anything that has been posted here as proof that they are sitting in stockrooms. Maybe they sneak these into stores on that date without any prior listing or advertising at all. But that would the first of heard of anything like that happening at Target.

I suppose they could be doing some kind of surprise announcement, where it isn't promoted until the weekly Target comes out in the Sunday newspapers on the 15th. I don't think those have leaked yet.

The pictures look cool and possibly real, but I don't trust anything whose only source so far is "some Reddit user". I'll wait to get excited until there's a more legitimate source to substantiate it.

It seems pretty legitimate to me. If it was a fake I'm not sure why there'd be a full case of them.

That was my thought as well. If he was just holding one, sure, maybe a little skeptical. But a whole case? That would take a hell of a lot of effort.

Looks like I'll be standing outside the doors at Target at 07:59 on 10/17. Hoping there's some good extras.

I don't know why anyone would doubt this is real. My guess is that they are trying to go viral with this surprise release, like all of the surprise album drops over the last couple of years.
