Yes, FWWM isn't going to be part of the release, and I doubt very much if there will be much (if anything) in new bonus materials. This seems to be merely a repackaging of the already-released Blu-rays.

Considering how important FWWM was to Season 3, that makes this collection pretty stupid

They lost the right to FWWM so it makes sense.

Additionally, it is the "Twin Peaks - The Complete Television Collection" and "Fire Walk with Me" was a theatrically released movie.

And now another:

  • The Limited Event Series
  • Fire Walk with Me and its deleted scenes: The Missing Pieces
  • Never-before-released behind-the-scenes footage from the making of all 18 parts of A Limited Event Series
  • A brand new interview with Kyle MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee
  • A newly produced featurette with Harry Goaz and Kimmy Robertson
  • Full-length, unedited versions of a number of the musical performances at The Roadhouse Bar from A Limited Event Series
  • Many special features from previous Twin Peaks releases
  • A 4K UHD disc of both the original pilot newly-transferred from film elements and “Part 8” of A Limited Event Series
“Once opened, a depiction of the infamous Red Room is revealed with its brown and crème chevron floor and brilliant red curtains. Sitting in front of the red curtain will be an exclusive die-cut acrylic figure of Laura Palmer kissing Special Agent Dale Cooper. This acrylic figure comes inside a plastic display holder held in place by magnets. Fans will have the option of leaving the figure in place inside The Red Room environment or removing and displaying it elsewhere. The plastic holder can also serve as an easel to display individual images from The Red Room Gallery, a curated set of 5” x 5” printed cards depicting memorable moments in The Red Room. Each package will also contain an individually numbered collectible certificate.”

Only 25,000 sets are being produced, releasing in the US & Canada on December 10, 2019.

I’m afraid to ask how much the above set will cost?

I hate almost everything about that packaging.

That UHD disc, though...

The preorder is up at amazon for $140. I placed an order but it being amazon I don't expect to get it within the month of release so I will cancel it once the Best Buy option goes up.

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3/The Return - 12/5/17 (slight spoilers within)

Something's going on with TWIN PEAKS. For a show that I would consider 'dead" (again!) after pretty low ratings (about 100,000 viewers per week) on Showtime, it sure is getting a lot of attention with merchandising this fall - the above set, another yearly calendar, and another box set of trading cards from Rittenhouse. It's not unusual for a canceled series to keep pumping out merchandise after it's gone, but the last time this happened (with The Entire Mystery set), Lynch announced Season 3 about a year later.

Do I think there will be a Season 4? No. But I do think Lynch is working on SOMETHING. We'll see.

It was never “cancelled”, per say.

Showtime has said they are open to more and Lynch said last year he had an idea for the story.

Correct, although Lynch didn't specifically say he had an idea. He's never that specific.

I don't think "story" is really the right word for whatever Twin Peaks turned into in Season 3.

For Season 4 I hope they bring back "Flannel Cooper".

I was hoping for an extended scene of the dude sweeping the floor of the Road House. Talk about a missed opportunity.

It still bothers me that he missed a shell on the floor.

That shell is the secret to unlocking the entire series.

That is what Laura whispered to Cooper during the end shot.

"He missed a shell when sweeping the Road House Floor"

That is why Cooper had that look on his face.

Lynch no doubt has hours of that footage and plays it in a loop while he meditates.

I was ready to start S3 tonight.
Watched 1 minute and realized I no longer give a flying fudge about TP...proof that things do indeed change.

I watched Lost Highway and then the first four episodes of TP season three last night so I made up for you and then some.

Ha!
Thanks for that.
LH is a fine, weird little movie...one of his better ones IMO.

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3/The Return - 12/5/17 (slight spoilers within)

Crap. I really had no interest in that set until I read this:
A 4K UHD disc of both the original pilot newly-transferred from film elements and “Part 8” of A Limited Event Series
I really didn't care that much for season 3 as a whole, but "Part 8" was pure Lynchian glory. I'd love to own just that episode it as a standalone movie in the Twin Peaks universe.

Otherwise, I'm happy with my existing BDs of seasons 1 and 2 and FWWM.
