I agree, I think it was the best of the three. I'm in for the 3D, but still waiting to hear what the exclusives are.

I just finished watching it in 3D. Stunning. It was never gimmicky, but always had something going on visually that was reminding me it was 3D, in a good way. Also more levels and layers, and even directions - like tree branches going different directions - than I've seen in 3D in a good long while.

Not to mention it's a good story and the cgi has gotten to the point that's it's completely believable. I could look as close as I wanted at the apes and not worry about finding the flaws and being taken out of the story.

If there are no exclusives for this one I'll just hold off until BF. Likely one of the movies that will be less than $12.99 that weekend.

Same here. I'll buy it new so it shows up on the charts for the studio, but it can wait.


Weird: as I was typing this out, I suddenly remembered that last night I dreamed about these movies and they were making a 4th one called The Power of the Planet of the Apes. No idea what it was about, but the title stood out to me as unique.

I picked up the 4K Trilogy at Walmart for $39.96, and there is a sticker on the front of the case that says it includes a $5 Vudu credit.

FWIW, Amazon had the UHD trilogy for $32.
IMO, this is one of best sci-fi franchises out there right now.
