17 years later and the U.S. is finally getting this masterpiece on Blu-ray. I've had the UK import for about 7 years now, so I am not sure that I will be getting this one. No word on extras or if it has a new transfer. It will have a Digital HD version, though.

hope the making of's are decent size. were these all on DVD? at such a low price i suspect so and that would be a shame, but welcome nonetheless...

Good, yes
Masterpiece, no

I'll take 21 Grams or Biutiful over it.

I'll take Amores Perros over all of his work.

21 Grams is great, but ranks at the bottom of his filmography.

Amores Perros
Biutiful
The Revenant
Babel
Birdman
21 Grams

Yeah, it was on the DVD, Spanish BD, and UK BD.

You can check out the reviews of the DVDs (there were two) on this very site to check the contents and it sounds like those are the extras we're getting, -commentary (from the second release), a 13-minute making of (a shorter version was on the second release), and shorter features on the car crash, and handling the dogs. I guess the question is whether they're going to be upgraded to HD or not.

how does audio commentary on a foreign language release work? you have the commentary subtitled as well as the film itself? isn't that a hell of a lot to read in a small space? can you see the movie even?

anyway, seems like a good release and can't wait to revisit...review

essentially only the speaker who's talking is subtitled. If there is silence from the commentary portion, whoever is speaking in the movie is subtitled

If you listen to a regular commentary, you don't also listen to the movie soundtrack at the same time. Why would you need or expect subtitles for the movie dialogue during the commentary?

Usually you still hear movie in background. It’s low, but it’s there as far as I’ve sampled...
