Awesome news. The only downside is there looks to be no extras aside from the theatrical trailer. Either way it's an instant pre-order.

yeah, no extras will hinder me on this. it's on cable once in awhile and i can just DVR and be satisfied (i hope)...

Are archive discs BD-R? This film really deserves a nice special edition.

Blu ray Archive discs are pressed not burned.

They are also usually higher bit rate/better encoded than the mainstream brick & mortar releases. I'd love for every Warner title I cared about to be released thru the archive rather than the main studio.

It would be nice to get that as well to have all three of the films from Batman: The Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures on Blu-ray. It wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't happen though given how long it took for Mask of the Phantasm to be announced which is the most popular of the three.

It's available for pre-order. Release date is July 25th and the price is $21.99. There's also a bundle with a shirt I'm tempted by but it's $49.95.

Manufactured on demand I think is what it is. I've only bought one Archive disc and it is pressed and has a regular case with artwork like any other retail release.

Yeah there are three. This, Sub-Zero, and Mystery of the Batwoman. Mystery of the Batwoman came to Blu-ray a few years ago. Also the Return of the Joker is out which is technically in the same universe.

I was intrigued, but then I saw the shirt. I'm not a fan of the artwork on it.
