I cannot believe how hard it was to find this on 3D blu. I got really lucky at the third best buy I went to because they were shifting stock and the guy had one in his cart that was misplaced. He said it was the first one he had seen in a few weeks. A friend never saw it and his birthday is coming up so I wanted to get him a nice gift.

It's in-stock at BestBuy.com. But I see it's not available on Amazon or Target. Must have been a pretty limited run.

Come to think of it, I don't think I saw a single copy of the 3D version at Target. Maybe they were not carrying it in stores?

They must have had it in store : They had a store-exclusive version

It's not unusual for some Target stores to only get 1-3 copies of a title. So it's pretty common for people to think they must not have a carried a title because they couldn't find those 1-3 copies. Essentially you have to look for the empty part of the shelf, and even that taken off quickly once the stock is gone.

I actually have an extra copy of the 3D Target exclusive pictured above. I would be willing to work out something if somebody was interested. I ended up being able to score one of the Best Buy steelbooks since there was still one copy available where my niece lives.

I bought the 3D copy in-store at Target on its release day. In fact, that was really because they were cleared out of the non-3D set.

The clerk told me that they only had a handful of 3D copies.

Conversely, they had well over 100 copies of Sing in 3D. I got that for my daughter. We haven't seen it yet and Saturday is movie day with daddy. She loves 3D.

I think it may be. The guy told me he had not seen any more come in since release and he only found that one because it was buried somewhere else in the media section.

On eBay and Amazon reseller they are going for $40 and up.

Amazon cancelled my 3D order yesterday. I was able to get it at Bestbuy.com. I put off ordering it hoping it was going to drop some.

I'm not a big fan of live-action 3D movies but while watching this in 2D the other night I kept thinking how great this one would look in 3D.

I saw it in 3D at the theater. It was a great presentation.

I hope it looks good in 3-D because the regular Blu-ray looks flat and drab for a major Hollywood production.

Re: Doctor Strange -- 2/28/17

Watched the movie for the first time over the weekend.

The first pre-credit sequence was distressingly dim (and the 3D was full of crosshatching), but things settled down quickly after that. While there were definitely scenes that were darker/dimmer than the usual Marvel romp, I found most of it to be well lit and clear (even with the 3D glasses) and the climax in particular was clear and colorful. It was also, after that first scene, one of the most ghost-free 3D discs I've seen on my set up. Don't know how much of that was the disc and how much was due to my eyes acclimating, but it was appreciated.
OTOH, negative parallax (out of the screen) pop was almost non-existent. It was all in-screen depth.
That was a surprise and made the 3D seem...very tame.

I was surprised but the element of the presentation that most impressed me was the sound mix. Very aggressive use of surrounds, especially in the big set pieces.

Overall I enjoyed it, but not without some quibbles.

Target has become almost as much of a nightmare to find a copy of a movie as Best Buy has. Unless you are looking for a brand new release on an end cap, then I wish you luck in finding it.

Amazon shipped my copy out yesterday along with my Subscribe & Save order/items. Took them over 25 days to ship the Doctor Strange 3D BD.

Still need to grab this. One thing that sucks with Disney titles is if you miss the release week sale price they don't drop for a long time. Not that $5 or $6 will kill me but I try to stay under $20 for mainstream releases like this.

Bummer--I finally got my Amazon 2D copy but it didn't have a slipcover. No big loss, though.

A lot of it is just OCD because my other Marvel titles generally have slipcovers.

Currently $17.99 at Amazon for the 2D version
