That price does seem high for a BD-R copy.

Still one of the few DVDs I own. I'm just not paying that to upgrade it on BD.

I just picked up the digital eons ago on Amazon for $4.99 when it was on sale. Thankfully when they started linking services, it ported over. And unless they remaster it, I see no need for a blu. Love the movie though, it would be a prime Shout title for them to release.

Blame Sony...Sony is doing this on all of their MOD discs. I would like Finding Forrester but I'm certainly not paying $26 bucks.

I ran into the same issue with Hunt for the Wilderpeople. It sat at $26.99 FOREVER until a couple weeks ago when it briefly dropped to $15, now it's back at $27 again.

I have Real Genius in HDX on my Vudu account - got it for 2.50 a while back during one of those disc to digital promotions. I would love to own a physical copy in HD but not at more than $15.

When I found out that Sony was releasing "Body Double" on Blu-ray here in the states as a MOD.....I immediately ordered it from the U.K. instead. It's region free and looks beautiful. Best of all, it is NOT a MOD.

I have not noticed any PRICE DROPS for the MOD discs. They are asking the same price they would have asked for an original pressing.....therefore, it really isn't that great of a deal no matter how bad I want the title. If I can't get an original pressing.....I certainly won't be buying a MOD.

There's no extra stock to deplete, so studios don't feel pressured to drop MOD pricing.

I voted with my feet on this. Amazon sends DVD-r without warning, it goes right back. If I can, I get pressed from Australia - guess they won't tolerate this trash. I have also found pressed on Ebay for much, probably from China, but...

It is disappointing when Amazon sends a DVD-R. I ordered a DVD the other day thinking it was still pressed, when I checked closer it was from the Warner Archive label. Thus a DVD-R.

It's not limited to DVD anymore - they are doing this more and more with CD and Blu-ray. Amazon wants to kill off physical media.
