If it's just between Digibooks & Steelbooks, I prefer the latter.

I'm not exactly ga-ga over Digibooks but I hate Steelbooks with a passion, they're all ugly to me. I prefer neither but I'm not going to vote for neither since that's kind of a wimpy and wussy, cop-out option; I'm just a do or die, this or that kind of a guy. So, Digibook, it is for me.

Re: Digibooks or steelbooks - what do you prefer?

Just a small, meaningless update:

So I purchased a couple of steel books: Superbad, Drive, and Casino. I like them, they're pretty cool. Over on blu-ray.com, there seems to be an obsession with the steel books. I wish Superbad and Drive had art on the inside, though. My copy of Casino hasn't arrived yet. I was actually going to purchase the steel book for Pan's Labyrinth before I found out Criterion was going to release their own blu-ray for the movie.

As for Seven, I purchased a brand new digibook for about 10 dollars on ebay. My indecisiveness was actually useful for once.

Anyone else have any thoughts about the subject?

Just like someone who doesn't like a particular movie I happen to enjoy—I couldn't give a rat's ass. The tastes of those who choose to be overly critical tend to be questionable more often than not. I think many of these Universal "comic" steelbooks look damn fine and I have many of them in my collection as well.

I like to collect digibooks and steelbooks immensely—and thats a complete 360 degree turn from when I first started collecting. Unfortunately, digiibook releases are now extremely rare. The very best ones were produced by Warner Bros and they seem to have abandoned the packaging altogether. I'm still on the fence on whether to buy the Labyrinth steelbook or the digibook version. I'm crazy enough to but both.

If we are going to make this our official Steelbook and Digibook conversation thread (which I'm totally cool with), I wanted to mention that I'm 100% in love with the Best Buy Exclusive X-Men Apocalypse Steelbook. Kind of a bummer it doesn't come with a 3D copy, but it's hard to get too upset when it looks this cool.

Yeah, I love that X-Men Steelbook. I have no choice since I own all of the previous X-Men/Wolverine Metalpaks...gotta have it.

Steelbooks. There is nothing appealing about digibooks to me.
