Here's the trailer for Maximum Overdrive for those who don't remember it. King appeared in the trailer. I remember seeing this trailer as a kid back in the 80's and he looked creepy, especially with his intro and his crossed eyes.

It was the 1st and only movie he ever directed. I guess since it was a bomb, no studio ever wanted to hire him to direct ever again.

That is a creepy King in that trailer. Interesting that they used the music from Halloween III: Season Of The Witch for that trailer.
Was there any explanation as to why they used the Green Goblin face for the front of the truck?

The filmakers wanted to give the main villain a "face" to humanize the murderous machine.

This is a $17 movie at best and it's going to be priced at $27. Guess I'll wait for sales or find it used how ever long that'll be.

I would really like to have no-holds barred Stephen King commentary tracks on the classic films adapted from his work: this, Carrie, The Shining, The Dead Zone, Christine, Creepshow, Pet Sematary. It doesn't seem like something King is interested in doing, though.
I realize King isn't terribly proud of Maximum Overdrive, but I think his personal insights and stories about production would be fascinating.

Yeah. He’s always well spoken and so knowledgeable. Wish he would do more with his movies. And not acknowledging a forgotten Emilio Estevez classic

After the video quality of Dagon, I'm going to wait for reviews on this one.

New MST3K host Jonah Ray is doing a commentary track on this. On the Blumhouse Shock Waves podcast he mentioned wanting to riff this for the upcoming season of the MST3K, but not being able to get the rights.
I’ll be interested to check it out because of that.

If you haven't gotten it yet and want it, is cheap at Amazon right now.

If you like nudity, mild gore and just crazy, off the wall horror films in general, Blood Diner is an excellent blind buy. I get tired of hearing about shitty movies being entertaining, then buying them and being disappointed. This movie is fun and lives up to its reputation.

Yup, got it too. 12 bucks for a campy 80's horror movie with lots of extras. Sounds good to me. Plus, you don't get too many of these Vestron titles for that cheap.

Is Shivers worth a blind buy, or Little Monsters for that matter? Both are pretty reasonably priced for newly released boutique titles.

as Blu said Cronenberg and pretty nice extras. Little Monsters is really a silly, stupid kids movie with Fred Savage and Howie Mandel as the leads. that should tell you all you need to know.
