Will be released this September. Not many details about it. I doubt there is much or any significant new material. The previous Alien box set with all the movies was already pretty loaded.
The anniversary release will include both the original theatrical cut and the special edition, which features more about the past and child Ripley left behind — and lost forever. It will also come with a commentary track, and previously released deleted and extended scenes.
The Blu-ray set will come with collectible art cards featuring concept sketches by Cameron and a book featuring art from the Dark Horse Comics Aliens series.

It's a companion to the Alien 35th Anniversary edition that came with the H.R. Giger art cards and mini reprint of the Goodwin/Simonson movie adaption graphic novel.
Might pick it up eventually if I can get it for about five bucks like I did the Alien one. Since the box it came in was so thin and flimsy it took me forever to find one that wasn't damaged.

Easy pass. Maybe someday we'll get the original theatrical color timing back?

My 15/70 IMAX recently dumped their film projection , but they're advertising this as being shown in a few week. I assume they have the new laser system and its a 4K scan. If I can get the day off work, I'll see if it's teal.

Unless they had it wrong, EW is reporting: "Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is also releasing a new Aliens 30th anniversary Blu-ray and Digital HD edition on Sept. 13, which will feature a new interview with Cameron on the design and inspiration of the film."
Maybe it was on the larger box set, and it considered new for a single disc release.
