I went with the Steelbook only. Even though it is listed as Region B, it should be Region Free since this is Disney we are talking about. The price is a little high, but I've been waiting eons for this since I exiled Netflix from my set a long time ago (long story). But extremely excited and I know I will watch this over and over again.

That steelbook look awesome. The cover look like a Frank Miller's artwork.

That's a cool cover. I did get a coupon for 15% off an order but I don't know if that item will qualify since it's a pre-order.

I get the feeling that steelbook sells out pretty quickly.

This is set to release on October 3rd. The Zavvi Steelbook sold out but Amazon.de is selling it too. Trying to decide if it's worth the money (it's like $47 and change) or if I just want to get the regular edition.

So this is not being released in the US? No listings on BB or Amazon.

There doesn't seem to be any news about a US release. The first season premiered quite a while ago so either they're just really dragging their feet or maybe they don't feel the need to put it out because streaming is the more popular option now days. I don't think it's a Netflix thing either since a lot of their popular shows have gotten physical releases.

Well fuck em then. Guess I'll never get to see it.

The UK release should be region free. If you like Daredevil you owe yourself watching it.

It has been confirmed by other forums (who actually have the discs in their possession) that it is region-free. My copy dispatched from Zavvi earlier this week so I'm eager to get it here and see. I can also mention that there are no extras, and it is 4 discs. But its a nice steelbook and will look fantastic in my collection.

That sucks about no extras. I didn't realize that was the case. I still want it but was hoping for some features.

I'm more likely to blame Disney too since they have zero enthusiasm for TV season sets on home video in the U.S. anymore. I can't imagine Netflix is a barrier here since other services (iTunes, Amazon, etc.) have been selling the first season of Daredevil digitally for a while now. Netflix definitely has a window of exclusivity, but I can't imagine a physical release would be so restricted versus VoD.

Even though my wife has a Netflix subscription, I just like having things, so I imported a regular set (no steelbook) from the UK.

Decided to just get the standard release from Amazon UK. The Steelbook isn't really worth an extra $15 to me.

For awhile there's been speculation that it will be announced at a comic convention, and New York Comic Con takes place next weekend. A perfect time to announce this, if the info turns out to be true (his info almost always is ime).

Good, good...glad its coming to the US as well. Daredevil for me was a special case and I just didn't want to take a chance on it not coming to the US. I'll probably wait for the US release on Jennifer Jones though.


For those of us who ordered the steelbook from Zavvi...are any of you still haven't received your copy? Just curious...it's going on a week and a half to two weeks now since they said they shipped it, and I'm starting to get worried.

The specs can't be right. If it's a single barebones disc it isn't worth $40. I'm going to wait until it hits $20 if that's the case.

It's probably 4 discs like the UK release

I'd reckon that's just Amazon using a template or placeholder. Thirteen hour long episodes on one disc is pushing the format. It's possible if it's compressed to shit like those public domian DVD movie collections, but this will probably be three or four discs.

Guess I could have waited for the US release but whatever. It seems like the packages are identical (other than no Steelbook for the US release). Mine is on the way from Amazon UK already.

Welp, Amazon Pre-order is now down to $29.99 Stateside.

I still haven't gotten my Zavvi steelbook 2 1/2 weeks later, so off to contacting them I go. I have a feeling I'll just get refunded. I mean, I've waited this long, I can wait another week or two, but it's depressing. All the piddly orders that I do, I would have been completely okay if one of them got lost. But Daredevil is my childhood comic book hero, it just meant a little more.
