Not sure if I'll pick up Spectre or not. May get it just because I own all the other James Bond films

I am in the same dilemma but have not seen Spectre

Spectre (SteelBook™)

Spectre is the first Bond that while it has the minimalist of extras gives me no incentive to purchase it.

It's not the best Bond by far but I still enjoyed it. Still might wait for the price to drop though.

to an extent - yes, but it's such a joyless bleak entry that in my mind holds no repeat viewings.

I enjoyed it enough to preorder it. Not QoS bad by any means. Not Craig's best either, but still good IMO.

It has maybe the best Bond opening ever -- the one area that was sorely lacking in the previous Craig Bond films.

The opening is great but the rest is mediocre as hell. I'd say QOS is way better than Spectre overall.

For those who don't know, MI-5 is based on the British TV series "Spooks"

It stars Kit Harrington from Game of Thrones.

It's a worthy rental. I never watched the TV show, but the movie stands alone enough where you don't need to see the show.

Spooks is one of the best BBC shows ever. I loved it right to the end. The movie however, was a bit lacking. But - if the movie interests you, the show is miles better. The movie as a standalone was good, just not as great as it could have been. They just needed to have invoked more of the spirit of the show to have made it great.

I may break down and buy the Target edition just to see the extra extras, but yes that opener was a stunner... and LOUD (over on the Arclight 'widescreen' screen - the volume setting was set to "11") - I'd like to hear it again at a less assaultive pummeling.

Enough with the Bonds already.

I'll get Crimson Peak and Spectre (Steelbook) - only picking up Bond because I'm a completist and Steelbook fan....don't have a desire to rewatch that one anytime soon.

I agree. I've never seen the show either but enjoyed the movie.

Target version has a bonus disc of 30 minutes of more extras.
