There was a line of about 40 people outside BB this morning. Very organized, people were cool, nobody rushing or being a dick.

I was at BB at lunch. There were tons of steelbooks. My desire for uniformity in my Star Wars collection + $5 Disney Coupon + $5 Reward Cert swung me that way. Still have a the regular edition coming from Target tomorrow, which I will probably return.

Seriously? Shit that sucks. Well back to the store it goes then. I've got both the regular and the Steelbook ordered at BB and will pick up the one I like better, I guess.

Well, the photo/artwork is kinda cool, if you're into that sort of thing.

But it does look like taking out the discs would be a pain.

Yeah, I'm glad I went with the standard packaging. The few steelbooks I have were picked up because that's the version I happened to find or was available, so I wasn't dying to have it.

I hit my local Best Buy at lunch and there were a lot of copies of the regular and steelbook.

Picked up the regular version at Best Buy today. There were a ton of steelbooks available but I couldn't justify paying an extra $8 for uglier cover art and the exact same disc content.

I guess these steelbooks will be about as "limited" as the other Star Wars steelbooks that Best Buy can't seem to give away since they had them at every turn and on every end cap throughout the store.

I'm very happy that Disney went the distance and had an extra disc full of extras, but why would they omit the trailers??? They were awesome.

I want a durable case. Though I suppose that Target packaging goes along with my 9 disc set where the discs are all in sleeves as well. I just don't want the packaging getting crushed. (I just got The Omen Collection and it's the worst cardboard packaging I've ever seen). Maybe I need to see the set myself to decide.

slop, can you check DMA and tell me what featurettes they included and their run time? I went nuts trying to get the extra bonuses for The Good Dinosaur and they ended up being like six minutes total content.

Thinking of grabbing the steelbook and hoping the price on it dips in the next 30 days. Not sure though.

I don't mind my new disc being inconsistent with the 9-disc box since I consider that the Lucas Era Box and I'm starting a new era today.

Woo hoo! New era!!

I'm fairly certain we'll get a set with Episodes 7-9, then another saga set with all 9 episodes. Then probably another one for the anthology movies. They won't ever stop.

I can't believe that either. I was hoping all the trailers would be included with the BR extras.

That part you can bet on.

I think I'm going to hold out for the 3D version later this year. I didn't catch the movie in theaters, so waiting a little longer isn't going to kill me. I just picked up the saga from GoHasting for cheap, so that will keep me entertained for now.

Does anyone have examples of other blu-rays that have the teasers or trailers for this Star Wars on them?

Not really a fan of the way that the case only holds two discs and the Blu-ray's are stacked on top of each other. I could have sworn I saw a review where the case had a double sided flap and then the third disc on the case itself.

Where did you buy yours? I just opened mine at work to make sure it was ok inside and two of the discs are on a swingarm and the DVD is on the back hub.

Mine came that way from Amazon. The hub for the discs seems to extend out more than a normal case to fit the two discs. I'm probably just going to put the Blu-ray discs on the hubs and stick the DVD in a paper sleeve or something.

Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens - April 5th, 2016

That Target exclusive packaging is indeed terrible. I would have picked it up if it was one of those new slick diamondlux cases with the magnets. Or even a sturdy digibook like the Hunger Games exclusives. But it's just a flimsy thick paper foldout with no slipcover to keep it intact once the shrink wrap has been removed. The online bonus content isn't worth the upcharge when the regular case is the far better option. befrank-

Nice. I went with the real working speeder bike and I'm kind of regretting it.
