Just a heads up, SyFy will apparently be airing Phantasm Remastered on Thursday night (October 6) at 11pm/10pm Central. http://www.syfy.com/schedule/1475726400
Obviously it will have commercials and whatnot, but might be worth it to check out if anyone is curious or has concerns about the upgrades. |

Ravager, 3 and 4, along with Phantasm Remastered are all on Vudu, iTunes, Amazon now in HD.
I see that my pre-order of the Phantasm Remastered BD is still in my order history (but now with a price of $17.99) but it looks like the BD listing has been removed. I'm tempted to spend the $$ to get all of these now, but I'm gonna wait for the physical releases on BD. I would have gone to a screening of the original if they'd had one near me though. Hopefully separate BD releases of 3,4 and 5 are out early next year. |

Received my Phantasm BD today. It came with a slipcover, too!
Unfortunately, it may go the route of giving it to my wife, so she can put it amongst my Christmas presents as she says I buy everything for myself. Difficult, as I'm really anxious to watch it. |

Cancelled my order from Amazon right around the time they emailed me an updated delivery estimate of 12/12.
Ended up ordering from Best Buy. Would be nice to get a slipcase, but I'll be almost as happy to just save $2.50 over Amazon's price. Greatly looking forward to having this back in my collection. The last AB release was basically unwatchable on a large screen due to all the aliasing and artifacts. Been over a decade since I've watched the movie so another ten days won't make a big difference. |

This movie looks fantastic on blu ray. We watched it last night. However, the crispness of the video and audio do not make the movie make any more sense.

I have every intention of buy the box set but the fact that the original was readily available and well priced at Best Buy was too hard to resist. The movie looks amazing and the 5.1 sound is very good. I'm looking forward to the box set, whenever that happens.

Deleted Scenes, commentary, and trailers that were on prior DVDS. It seems lacking, but I get the notion that the upcoming box set will have the bulk of the extras.

BMD: The soundtrack is amazing, too. Did you beef that up at all? DC: Oh yeah, you can really hear the power and wonder of the music now. Many of the sound effects also have much more impact – guns and cars and things like that. Even back in the day in 1979, we spent a lot of time getting that Mono soundtrack as perfect sounding as we could. But when the film was projected, they used to put it on Optical in Mono, and the Optical Soundtrack could only handle certain cycles. So anything over 9000 Hz would just cut off and anything below 500 Hz would just cut off. You’d lose a lot of the low and high end frequencies in the soundtrack. Now we have the whole spectrum. |

Shout and Arrow both bid for the series in North America but Coscarelli chose Well Go because they are also a theatrical distributer, so they have exclusive rights.
The Well Go box looks comparable to the Arrow set and more features will be announced soon. The Phantasm 1 disc looked great to me. |

Just watched the Phantasm blu the other night. Stunning and I mean stunning picture quality. I am very impressed with what they did with it. Well worth the price. |
