Given their track record with releasing classic films, I'm surprised Warners hasn't released The Thing From Another World on blu-ray.

COLOSSUS: THE FORBIN PROJECT
THE SWARM
WHEN TIME RAN OUT (144 minute version, NOT the cut 108-minute DVD)
DEMON SEED
CITY ON FIRE ('79) / TERROR ON THE 40TH FLOOR (great double feature)
PIRANHA II: THE SPAWNING
PARASITE ('82)
WAVELENGTH
THREADS (and, of course THE DAY AFTER)
THE HITCHER (oh, please, please! let me throw out my crappy DVD)
IT'S ALIVE / IT LIVES AGAIN / ISLAND OF THE ALIVE (Larry Cohen!)
APEX (as mentioned before, I've got the LD, it never saw a DVD release)
C'mon, SCREAM FACTORY, 88 films, Severin, let's get crackin'. You've put out many other lesser films that didn't deserve to be released before the above.
We're pretty much set on Giallo films, there's now an excellent showing of them on Blu-ray.
We need more disaster / 70s B films. And we've got all those atomic attack films to go. Glad we're getting PANIC IN YEAR ZERO! ('62) soon on Blu. So many more!

That combined with the state of the catalog market probably makes those an unfortunately lost cause.

Any of these in my signature. In fact I don't think I've taken anything off my list in a year or two. These are not obscure movies, these were all mainstream films. Some were extended or SE of DVD releases but just got a barebones BR release. Although I realize a couple are in other regions or have seen a limited release, the market is not robust enough to limit titles to 3000 copies forever.

Re: Movies you're surprised that haven't been released on Blu yet
There are movies one would LIKE to see on Blu, like Idiocracy, or Six Degrees Of Separation.
And then there are movies that I'm SURPRISED haven't been released like the Cheech and Chong and the Pink Panther catalogs, which has been discussed to death. Those two right there would knock off a large part of my few and dwindling DVD inventory.
it honestly feels like somewhere in the last year, if it hasn't been released by now, momentum is shifting from physical releases, to holding off and waiting for some streaming only solution. Blah

I don't think imports count. They're right fucking there but if folks are too cheap to go region free then that's their problem.
I keep seeing Quest For Fire on lists. I've had the fucking thing for like 5 years already in BD.

Re: Movies you're surprised that haven't been released on Blu yet
What frustrates me the most about the UHD format is that it ensures that the studios will continue to churn out the same damn discs all over again rather than digging into their catalog for some of these titles. There are hundreds of worthy titles that have yet to be released in high definition.
