Edward Scissorhands (25th Anniversary Remastered Edition) - October 13, 2015
Per EW.com
It’s been almost 25 years since Edward Scissorhands — Tim Burton’s unlikely love story featuring Winona Ryder, Anthony Michael Hall, and Johnny Depp as the world’s most gentle Frankenstein monster. And in celebration, Fox Home Entertainment is releasing a restored, special-edition Blu-ray.
The commemorative package, which will be released on Oct. 13, can be pre-ordered at San Diego Comic-Con this week. Fans who pre-order will also be able to snag an exclusive limited-edition lithograph (above), designed by artist Mark Englert in partnership with Gallery 1988.
“Edward Scissorhands is one of those timeless movies that just works on so many levels,” Englert said in a press release. “I love how the movie portrays creativity, success, love, fleeting acceptance, and the intense isolation that comes with being that special kind of different.”
The set will come with collectible film-inspired premium items, and will also include never-before-seen bonus footage. Preview the package below, as well as the official 25th anniversary logo.

Being restored got me to pre-order from foxconnect. Fox is also releasing The Rock Horror Picture Show in the same kind of packaging but no mention of a restoration.

If the restoration looks better than the first Blu-ray I will get this.
Let's hope they don't introduce any problems or mistakes on this remaster.

Not a fan of the "Alice in Wonderland" style logo, but I love this movie and will definitely rebuy if it looks significantly better.

Will buy when it's released without the extra bullshit.

It'd be pretty damn cool if RHPS got a remaster. I still haven't gotten the old BD.

Other than fixing the 7.1 track and including the bonus material from the two-disc DVD amongst other extras, I don't really know what else they could do. The original BD was sourced from a 4K DCP that Fox made.

What's wrong with the Rocky Horror audio? I have the digibook BD and couldn't believe they left off some of the extras from the prior DVD release.

I've seen some pictures over a blu-ray.com and the remastered edition looks worse imho.
It will be interesting to see a proper review/comparison over here.

The Target steelbook is ringing up $9.99 in stores, not $25 as listed on the site. I can confirm since I picked up a copy during my lunch break

Based on the chance this could be hard to come by I stopped by my local Target on the way home. They had 3 steelbooks and it took finding one of their employees to help me find it. On one of the end caps. Now I wait for the reviews to figure out if it's worth having over the original BD (which I never picked up).

Watching the new blu-ray for the first time. I have to say that anything indoors or at night looks okay to me but any outdoor daytime shots in suburbia look weird. The new greenish tint is bothersome. Instead of feeling like bright suburban California it feels like pre-tornado midwest weather.
I also noticed the digital copy has more info on the sides of the picture almost as if it's closer to the true 1.85 framing and the blu-ray crops the sides a bit to frame it as 1.78. Does this happen to a lot of movies?

The cropping difference between 1.78 and 1.85 should be fairly negligible, they must be two different masters. If the color-timing is screwy, maybe I just go with the old release.

I never got around to buying this the first time around on Blu so maybe I will pick it up in the coming weeks.
