Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

I managed to get to my local store around 10:50pm after I was done teaching one of my morning classes.

There were only 2 in the entire store. Picked one up for myself and for one of my friends who couldn't make it to a BB because of work.

Those resellers sounds like pieces of shit. Thought about Best Buy, but jut got it from Target. I hope this gets a SE at some point, with the B&W version, and some real extras. Most of the stuff on the disc I think is already on youtube.

Went to BB at 11:00am. ALL GONE.

Ended up getting the Anthology set. My first Blu-ray double-dip ever (Road Warrior) but oh well.

I couldn't find the steel at 2 separate BBys. Probably due to those scum bag dealers

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

Wow, I preordered my steel about 5 days ago at a local store (not my closest store but only an extra 15 minutes away), glad I did since I worked. They need to start a hard limit of 1 or 2 for these.
Reading on the other forum that the preorder cards they sold in store were worthless since stores didn't have a list of who ordered them, only online preorder show up in system. That would piss me off. I would highly recommend preordering Age of Ultron steelbook rather than trying to get day of release.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

I had a pre-order, but after hearing that BB wasn't setting aside any copies for pre-orders, I got there when they opened and nabbed one from the shelf (thankfully, no re-sellers at my store grabbing multiple copies), and had them scan that as me picking up my pre-order, as sure enough, they hadn't set any aside...

For once, I wasn't interested on the SB since I wanted the 3D version. First time in a long while that I bought a new release. Looking forward to watching it.

Damn. I went at 10 and there was about 10-15 on shelf. Maybe I should have been a scumbag dealer and bought them all lol.

I'm glad I did preorder it, they were out by the time I got there. I agree, they need to limit these to one or two per customer.

The pre-ordering/manufacturing system needs to change at the B&M level. Whether or not anyone wants to admit it, it's annoying for the customer as well as the associate.

Selling more pre-orders than the number allotted, means both sides of the coin need to figure something out. This isn't even a new thing. When I was working for Toys 'R' Us about a decade ago, we ran into the same problem when taking pre-order cards for games or movies (or consoles).

On a great day, we would have more product than number of pre-orders. On a usual day, the manufacturer would send us way less than the amount of pre-orders we took in.

Hopefully what happens with the GOTG Steelbook happens here and those who want the Steelbook can get it eventually (for a period of time) at a slightly different higher price. I realize that's not anywhere close to ideal.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

- Resellers/scalpers suck.

- Presales/preorders should guarantee you that item. If the inventory will be limited, the store should only sell that many presells.

- It's a BOX.

- I ordered the Anthology from BB.com; same price as Amazon with RZ points and I can return/price match if it changes in the next 15 days.
Looking forward to checking it out (and finding someone to donate my original Mad Max DVD to). Although I haven't watched my other "fave movie of the year" BD yet (Kingsman).

(Rented a Uhaul one time. Went to pick it up about 0930 in the morning for a 10 reservation, after saying "We don't have to be right on time, we reserved it." Clerk was in a shouting match with other customer who reserved a truck for 9, got there at 930, and the truck was rented to someone else because she wasn't there at 9. Good thing I got there a bit early for mine.)

My store claims that none of the Steelbooks got shipped and will be in tomorrow or the next day via UPS Next Day Air. We'll see, but I'll raise hell regardless if I don't get a Steelbook.
That Sienfeld was exactly what I was thinking about today.

I thought you were getting the 3D?

Maybe. Want to keep my options open. If they can't locate a Steelbok, you can bet I'm at least getting them to eat the difference in price for the 3D version. Besides I want to at least check out the 3D version.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 1)

You would think Best Buy would supply more of these movies like Fury Road that are very popular and have lots of people wanting to buy the SB edition.
It is just A SB.I guess it is A limited edition, but they did not advertise it as so.

Sucks that many that pre-ordered for store pick up are not getting the movie set aside from them.I pre-ordered on 8/11 but ship to my house.
Received the SB today, but I really think the movie is way over rated.

I hope they do not mess up the Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron (3D) SB that is being release with two different back cover art.
Ordered at $19.99 now $29.99.

A friend of mine who did not get the Steelbook he pre-ordered in-store, got a $10 Gift Card an a copy of the 2D BD.

Good luck!

Seems like there is a problem every time BB has an exclusive.
