re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

Black Moon Rising was the most recent movie to be issued on CED videodisc.

Guess I should get around to watching my Nixon laserdisc, since the forthcoming blu-ray will include the theatrical cut. Got the laserdisc because that was the only way to get that til now.

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

I have an old DVD of Black Moon Rising, which I haven't seen in ages. I don't recall much about the movie other than it had a cool score by Carpenter and a nifty futuristic car that Jones drove.

It's a decent cast for an 80's B movie. With a re-mastered picture, it might be worth getting. I know the old 80's print look horrendously dated now.

Saw this decades ago, then again recently on the DVD and still can't say it's a favorite. Seemed dated even at the time, but those extras are awfully compelling and most appear to be created for this edition (except for the vintage making-of and trailers). And since it's Kino and not, say, Shout, it will actually go on sale for an appealing price down the road.

Incidentally, it appears the Kino edition of BMR is identical to the Arrow UK edition, except for Arrow's usual booklet:

Interesting selection of releases. I might pick up The Silent Partner, though I own it already. The previous release had disgracefully hamfisted cover artwork.

I'm so happy to see Mumford finally get a Blu-ray release. This will be the movie's first BD anywhere in the world.

By the way, if you order "The Outer Limits" Season Two they automatically include the "replacement disc" with the shipment (they still have the original stock with the "bad" disc).

Mumford sounds great! Only 1 decent extra, so not sure why that gets 4 stars, but beggars can’t be choosers...

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

Is $11.95 the list price on those? That's pretty low for Kino, and you can't even find those in many stores. Those 4 titles were already on Mill Creek though priced pretty low (Father Hood and Life With Mikey was a double feature disc) how well did those sell and how many people who missed those are going to pick these up?

I've never seen Life with Mikey but am a big Michael J. Fox fan and the price for the Blu-ray is low enough that I'll blind buy it.

Yup, this one is so very Woohoo worthy had I not already owned the Powerhouse/Indicator release. Terrific film.
