Straight Talk and Consenting Adults were already on Mill Creek. They were Dollar Tree pick ups. I wonder why they are releasing those again. Miami Rhapsody and My father the Hero was on Mill Creek too.

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

Even Robert Harris ripped the disc, and he's usually pretty kind. I haven't seen it in person, but the screenshots look exactly like what one would expect from a Ritrovata restoration. Overly yellow, no contrast, etc. GBU was a sticker situation because there's no good alternatives out there (legal alternatives anyway). In this case just get the region free Italian disc and go about your business.

Deep Rising is LONG overdue for SE treatment. Such a relief to see it done right, even if we had to wait 20 years.

Maybe I missed the previous releases, but did Kino-Lorber just start copying the Shout!/Scream! process where they include a custom cover art slipcover for the first run?

re: The One and Only Kino Lorber Blu-ray Thread

The Day After was a huge TV event back in the early 1980's. I was a kid when it originally aired on ABC, but I don't think I ever saw it. I might have to get that. I'd like to see that extended theatrical cut, especially in HD.

When I was a kid, this was scary as fuck. Mushroom clouds blooming on the horizon, people getting zapped into skeletons, the world instantly becoming a hellscape... And it was all stuff that could potentially happen, and, in many ways, seemed inevitable.

I have not seen this movie in forever so I'm looking forward to this release. I'm surprised it has not been remade yet as it seems like it would fit that bill perfectly.

I love Deep Rising, but why doesn't anyone get Stephen Sommers other movie that never even got a goddamn DVD release? Catch Me If You Can (1989)
