I think Rauch could be a good choice. She has a very distinct voice that I can imagine working for Harley. Wonder why they didn't bring back Sorkin though.

Looks like a fun time. My only minor nitpick is that the animation is more in the style of The New Batman Adventures than Batman: The Animated Series. I tend to like the original designs more but anytime we get close to going back into that universe (sounds like it's more of a spiritual sequel movie than a true sequel) I'm excited. Rauch sounds okay as Harley from that clip. She puts a bit of her own spin on it but it isn't too far off from what I'd expect Harley to sound like. Its cool that they got both Conroy and Lester back as Batman and Nightwing respectively.

I'm not sure what it says about comics in the 90s that its two most influential characters from that period are Harley Quinn and Deadpool.

Honestly I get tired of Harley in general and feel that she's pretty overused but in this case I'm happy just because overall I like the idea of this movie.

I don't think they are going to abuse the R rating too much. Overall, they still want to try to sell as many as these as possible, and there are a ton of kid's parents that won't buy an R rated Batman animated movie. They can still get away with a ton of shit with a PG-13 rating, like they did in both of the Dark Knight Returns movies.

What's really strange, at least to me, is that these R rated ones don't really have real R rated content. If you are going that route, up the language, sex, or violence and make the loss of some of your "will not buy R for my kids" loss worth it!

I kind of doubt it. Bruce Timm talks about how the film is lighter in tone compared to some of the more recent output which he acknowledged as more dark in the featurette posted by dex14.

I don't really get the whole R thing. It seems more like a marketing gimmick to me.

On another note, I just watched Teen Titans: The Judas Contract and thought it was pretty good.

I don't mind them going for an R rating when the story justifies it but yeah it does feel a bit like they're trying to use it as a gimmick to a degree. Like The Killing Joke made sense to be R but I don't really think that Justice League Dark had to be. Same goes with the re-release of Wonder Woman with an R. I can't really imagine what would be added to warrant that. I was surprised that the two movies based on The Dark Knight Returns weren't R as that's a darker storyline.

The was nothing in The Killing Joke that justified an R. Pure gimmick. It's like they asked for the R so people would feel the adaption was more genuine.

Realistically they probably could have gotten by with a PG-13 I agree but like Kedrix pointed out there are a few things that can probably slant it more in the R direction. I didn't really have a problem with that one since it is one of the darker stories that's been adapted. I do think now they're doing it to try and make it seem like they're edgy or something when a lot of times the rating doesn't feel justified.

The 'R' rating is purely for marketing reasons. While I am sure loads of teenagers will end up seeing these animated features, Warner is going after the adult consumers that actually buy these movies.

All perfect examples of stopping short to keep the PG13 rating. I actually kept waiting to see something go further, since the box said R, but it never got there.

It supposed to be a lot better than JL vs TT...however I really liked JL vs TT anyway, but then I'm a sucker for anything Robin/Nightwing (and the fact I'm getting both is a bonus).

I thought Judas Contract was average at best. It really only took elements of the original story and put it in a modern setting. I remember reading 10 years ago or so when Bruce Timm was working on the adaptation that it was going to be faithful to the comic book. What really turned me off was...

I finally got around to watching Justice League Dark last night. I enjoyed it quite a bit but calling it a Justice League movie is pushing it. It's a fun Constantine movie though.

I also think that they handled the Judas Contract storyline a whole lot better in the original Titans TV series.

The story didn't really need Batman either, but WB is scared casual fans won't pick it up without him.

I liked Justice League Dark a lot but I've always been a fan of Zatanna and the other mystic DC heroes.

Stopped at my local Target here in MN when they opened up. No new movies had been put out, so I asked the guy to check. He scanned the shelf label and went to the warehouse. He came back with the steelbook for me, so I was fortunate not to run into any big problems getting one.

I guess Target changed their perk system. Instead of a free movie $19.99 and under, it's now $10 off any movie. So I ended up paying $6.99. That kinda sucks.
