Is there another fight at Amazon? This is supposed to be released in five days and it is still not listed on Amazon for preorder. I'm sick of Amazon's shit.

And like the last release, Best Buy is getting a steelbook and Target is getting their book type thing with an extra bonus disc

At least they're maintaining consistency on who gets what exclusive. Though I'm not a fan of Target's packaging. And I tell you, the Atmos mixes are no joke. The John Wick one is crazy good. I hope this will offer the same.

Yes, Amazon has shut down preorders for all Lionsgate product.

Target says my preorder is ready to pick up in-store. That can't be right.

What's the point of contention now?

I stand corrected. I picked up my copy tonight.

Cool. Any thoughts on the packaging? Does it match the first two?

And is the bonus disc a BD or DVD? Thanks.

It matches the first two, with a clear plastic outer slipcase that has the Mockingbird logo on it. The cover itself is just the picture of Jennifer Lawrence without the title logo.

The bonus disc is a DVD.

But don't the first two not even match when it comes to height? Which size is this one?

I would assume the same thing Amazon feuded with Warner and Hachette over. They want lower wholesale prices.

Both also don't have clear slipcovers. Only the larger DVD size case has the clear slipcover.

Looks to me, based on the pictures, that we are getting another DVD sized clear slipcover case, DVD bonus disc (even for the BD), and a much higher price than the other retailers. I've learned my lesson in buying these Target Hunger Games exclusives. They don't care about keeping the same look for them and I think my location still has copies of the last exclusive and they will be on sale for $9.

I still haven't gotten any of these films and actually didn't even see Mockingjay Part 1 yet. I think at this point I'll just wait for the complete box set though.

That's probably the best call at this point. Especially since I'm sure they will add some bonus features to that set as well.

I hopped on the Steelbook train for the past two releases, so that's what I'm grabbing this time as well.

You're right. I was misremembering the design of the first one. This one matches "Catching Fire." It's DVD sized.

I'm in the same boat. I think I'll end up waiting for the box set as well.

It would be maddening for me to have several different sized cases for all the entries in the series.

Oh yeah, I forgot that the first 2 don't match. I'll probably end up getting this anyway, even though it's sure to be under $10 by the end of the year.

I know that somehow I got a digital copy of that two hour making of documentary for Catching Fire on Cinema Now only. I don't remember exactly how -- maybe I just redeemed it on their site (I bought the Target-exclusive deluxe Blu Ray version of the movie). Has anyone redeemed their UV code yet? Anyone get the bonus feature on their account?

BTW : My Taget pre-ordered copy came today. The bonus cloth poster is VERY nice looking and my daughter was very happy to get it. It didn't include the $5 gift card in the package. Don't know where that is...

The $5 gift card ships separately, mine just shipped last night even though I've had Mockingjay since Friday.

Thank you. I'll keep a lookout for the gift card then. You'd think it would be a lot cheaper to ship it with the Blu Ray and the poster than to ship it separately, but whatever.

Answering my own question here, if you redeem the Mockingjay Part 1 UV code on Cinema Now rather than at the UV site as instructed, you get the HD movie on UV and you get all the video bonus content including the 2hr 14 min documentary, the PSH tribute featurette and the deleted scenes on the Cinema Now site as well. Don't know what happens if you redeem it on the UV site movieredeem.com instead (but I doubt you do get the bonus stuff digitally that way).
