Not very long.
The retail set has a run of 95,000. That's not counting the infomercial release or the plethora of DVD configurations out there.
I won't be surprised to see people score it for below $150 (w/ some combination coupon deal) just after the Holidays/pre New Year.
If not that soon, within 6 months for sure.
A year from now, it'll be getting blown out for just under $100.

How low do you think this will go down in price? I'm holding off on this 'til it at *least* goes down to $150. The baubles like the hot wheels car and whatnot, I couldn't care less about, but I don't want to hold off too long before it goes out of print.
What do you reckon the "sweet spot" is in terms of price?

If you pre order at Deep Discount you can grab the set for $155.70 + tax (using the code Griswold to grab an additional 10% off)...actually not a bad deal. On the other hand, I have a BB gift card, so I might use it on this set. Decisions, decisions.
Edited to add, I forgot DD will tack on a $3.99 s&h charge...so the BB Gift card route is probably the direction I will take.

That's 95,000 on top of an even higher number of DVD sets/configurations.
Sure there is some level of enthusiasm for this because it hasn't been released on home video before- but that gets mitigated by the higher cost and the fact that the property's main appeal is with an older demographic who are more likely than not just fine with buying the (much) lower cost DVD releases.
I think Warner is going to end up taking a bath on this one when all is said and done.

Ah well, I just re-ordered my set from Amazon again. I went back and forth on getting the German set or the version of the set from the BatmanonDVD web site but just decided that the retail version is my preference. It would be nice if it was cheaper but its something I've wanted for years so I'll be glad to finally have it.

I'm curious as to whether the packaging for this set is the same as the retail other than the different artwork. I would assume it is only minus the window for the Batmobile that the retail set has.

Yeah I've seen that unboxing (he's actually one of my favorite people to watch on YouTube and I actually watch that channel quite often). I just wanted to find out if the BatmanonDVD set is different packaging wise or if it just has different box art.

I like that box art a bit more still. Sort of makes me wish I had opted for the BatmanonDVD set instead of the regular retail set but whatever I guess. I'm just happy to finally have the complete series. The script looks like a nice piece even if it is just a reproduction I'd only look at a few times.

I just read a review that said the movie wasn't included, what set does stingermck have that includes it?

The version of Batman: The Movie included with the BatmanonDVD set is a DVD and not a Blu-ray if that makes a difference to people though. I sort of wish that Warner had just included it as part of the complete series package and given it on the proper format depending on which version a person opted for. At least the movie is available pretty easily for cheap though.

I kind of figured this would be 'direct from the source' so to speak, but we'll all be getting ours later than just about anyone other e-tailer order save for the ones getting imported.
I'd say I'd file this away for future reference, but I'm having a hard time thinking of another WB property down the road that would be this anticipated.
Guess it's not like I don't have more than enough to keep me occupied in the mean-time. But then again, if I wanted to wait this long for it, I would have ordered it from some place that was cheaper than WB.
I do like the graphic design of the green case. But the swag there is of even less interest to me.
Sounds like I should have just ordered the German set.

I order quite a bit from wbshop.com and have never had a pre-order ship earlier than the release date.

Re: Batman 60s TV Series Coming November 2014 in Blu-ray!
Just tried to cancel the WB order and they weren't able to. My only option now is to refuse the package, which I think I'll do.
The more I think about it, the more I hate spending that money on the swag and shelf-unfriendly box.
My concern with the German set has always been how much longer Amazon.de orders take to get here over even Amazon.uk (a moot point now as any order is going to be well past release day), and how much more abuse my Amazon.de packages seem to take over any other.
But if I choose Global Express for the shipping, despite being $20 more than regular, I'm still saving over $40 on the US set.
Are the trading cards, batmobile, and booklets really worth $40?
Hell no.
As long as the extras disc is there, I'll be happy.
