I ended up grabbing it from Amazon. I attempted to get them to match Deep Discount, but to no avail. I ended up getting a $5 credit for my "trouble", so I applied that to knock it down to $66 anyway.

I think this is the only Blu-ray I ever pre-ordered on Amazon. I might have gotten it cheaper later on, but I really wanted to make sure I got one.

I should have jumped on it back in July, when it was still $55. But, I was hesitant. At least I still got one. Missing the boat on it and paying after-market prices is something I try to avoid.

Barnes and Noble has this for $55.67 with free shipping.

I managed to snag the set for $35.67 with a $20 gift card I got from Coke rewards. So if you have enough points to get the $20 e-gift card (I think it's currently 1400 points or so) on Coke rewards it's a much better deal... and a much better feeling that you didn't break the bank on one film (not that it isn't worth it)!

I was initially worried that I wouldn't get the set due to the limited number and B&N possibly not getting much of an allotment, but in fine fashion, mine came yesterday. And as of this post, it's still in stock.

I wouldn't buy from Barnes and Noble. They're out of stock and showing a ship date of 1-2 weeks. Scream has indicated that Amazon is the only retailer with stock right now which is strange as my fucking copy still hasn't shipped. This thing is essentially sold out.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. Yeah, folks should have really ordered with Shout or Amazon from the start. Damn the price at this point, because when they do sell out you'll be paying even more on he 3rd market.

Got my copy just in time for Halloween - I saw this when it opened back in 1990 and seeing this new cut made the holiday. Don't know yet if the new cut is superior (it may take another viewing); it doesnt fix everything, but the new stuff is great to see. I hope that as I pore through the extras that the money men or women who were responsible for jacking up the film are named.

I watched this on Tuesday, when I got it, and the director's cut is a far departure from the theatrical cut. The ending is also completely different and certain character arcs, as well. Loved it!

Wow, I just looked this set up on Amazon, are people really paying $70+ for a 3 disc set?! Numbered or not, that's insane!

I might be interested in the limited edition but there is no way I'm paying anywhere near that.

so I basically got the "you're fucked" story from Amazon.ca. So just for the hell of it I called the mom and pop specialty dvd/blu ray store in downtown Vancouver I frequent, fully expecting them to say either A. They never got it. Or B. They sold out on Tuesday, the first day it came out. My luck they had ONE copy left, their (sealed) display copy for 59.99. Plus with some old dvds I traded in I got 15 bucks knocked off the total. I'm pretty happy to have it in my hands and not have to worry about fishing around on Ebay for copy at who knows what price.

My copy is still stuck in Kentucky so I called Amazon and they are shipping another copy out and gave me a $12 refund. Still not happy as i wanted this film for Halloween, but that is how life goes sometimes...regrettably, sometimes is almost all the time lately for me.

Got my copy from Amazon yesterday. Arrived in a bubble mailer, but it was in pristine condition and didn't take any damage.

Watched the DC, and while it was an improvement over the TC, it didn't feel all that different except for a few changes made to the ending that don't really affect the overall outcome, but would produce different sequels.

I do not believe the deluxe edition was worth the extra $40. I don't really see myself watching the TC more than once and the extras on the bonus disc didn't amount to much. I did like the stop-motion featurette and wish more could have been incorporated into the movie, and I did like the McQuarrie doc and the extended torture sequence, but even with the box and nicely-produced booklet, it still wasn't worth the $80 list price. Having the final product in-hand, I would have chosen to settle for the regular edition instead if I could go back in time and prevent myself from ordering this.

Anyone who missed out on this shouldn't feel too bad; the regular edition is good enough for all but the most rabid fans of this movie.

I have just the Director's Cut of the movie. Didn't want to spend that much money on the LE and don't care about the the extra disc. I thought the director's cut improved over the original. Movie is not perfect, Clive Barker is not that good as a director, some sloppy editing during the fight at Midian. I thought the cover art is much better than the LE.

Very strange. I came home tonight and found a package waiting for me addressed from diabolikdvd.com with a copy of the Nightbreed LE in it. Not only did I not order the Nightbreed LE from them (I ordered from Amazon and already received it on release day), I don't believe I've ordered ANYTHING from diabolikdvd in years. The last time I had, I would have lived at a previous address, but this one was addressed to my current house.

Is this somehow connected to Shout! Factory erroneously shipping LE copies to people who only ordered the standard edition? (Not that I ordered anything directly from Shout! either.)

I checked my bank statements and don't see any charges from this store. Weird.
