Fry's has the 1/2 digibook for $17.99. No code needed.

Looks like I'm out of luck for Walmarts in the Twin Cities metro. All the site-to-store estimated arrival dates say September 23 is the earliest I can pick it up.

I went ahead and ordered a copy from Best Buy for in-store pickup and will try to return it and buy with the coupon or ask to be credited back the 5 dollars. We'll see what happens.

It said that for my store, but I went in and they had a few on the shelf.

Has anyone gotten the size of the first movie's encode to compare to the previous 4K release?

For those that have seen this at Wal-Mart, where specfically has it been stocked? New release shelf? With other catalog releases? Planning on heading there after work and would love a first place to look.

Best Buy had several copies of the digibook when I went around lunchtime...

There was a spot for the movie with the newer releases (on the side with last week's releases like Captain America, not the end cap with Godzilla). The discs weren't there yet. I was told they'd be stocked later this morning. Will return around lunch time.

Man I hate re-buying a Blu Ray release, but for the other stuff (sequel, digital copy 4K scan) and for only $11, I guess it won't kill me...

Indeed, but it looks like they do have it in-store for $16.99.

I found a spot with 5 copies in a section with the "newer" releases. It was not in the "New Release" end cap with Godzilla and Fault...Stars. Coupon scanned without problem. Good luck!

Actually, if the $16.99 price is accurate at Target, I'm getting it there. Going to Target for Godzilla anyway.

ETA - Prince indeed $16.99. So after the coupon and Red Card discount it's pretty much the same price as Wal-Mart without having to make a trip to that dump.

I purchased my copy at Walmart today. There were three on the shelf. The coupon was taken without issue.

Thanks for the heads up, I was going to grab the second movie since I already had the first, but can't pass both up for $11. Also, didn't Sony originally say they couldn't fit the extras on the new 4K edition that came out last year due to size limitations? Because all of the 4K re-releases were bare bones. So how did they cram everything in this time?

I'm not sure that Sony said that explicitly. I can't remember where I saw it, but the file size on the original 4K disc still left plenty of room for extras, so it wasn't a size limitation that kept them from including extras before. (If memory serves, only ~33GB of the available 50GB were used).

Watched the deleted scenes of Ghostbusters II. There's no scene with Eugene Levy. Was that just a rumor?

Got mine today from Amazon. $18.96 + tax. I don't mind paying that since it's 2 movies.

Very nice looking set. I guess this was produced before Harold Ramis' passing since Ivan Reitman's liner notes made no reference to him and his passing.

I like how frank Reitman was acknowledging that Ghostbusters 2 wasn't that good even though it did well financially.

I liked that as well. It lent some sincerity to it.

At least part of it was produced after the fact. Aykroyd makes mention of Ramis' stamp on the various Ghostbusters 3 scripts and mentions how the latest draft has his presence and says "not where he's speaking to me from beyond the grave."

Looks like Amazon would give me $0.02 for my old Blu-ray copy of Ghostbusters...

The post-production was obviously finalized after his death as the GB2 portion shows a pic of Ramis with cheesy sentimental in memoriam music. But I agree that the interviews were probably shot before.

I noticed that the deleted scenes had a 2008 copyright date on them. GB2 was one of Sony's phantom Blu-ray releases for years but that's the first evidence I ever saw that they'd ever started to produce an aborted GB2 disc before this year.

Nope. Afterwards, as I noted above.

Aykroyd casually mentions it (although not directly). After looking more closely at the merchandise they had in the background, on one shelf was the Funko Pop vinyls. They weren't announced until March (Ramis died in February), and released in May.

There was a 2008 release planned for the European market but it was never officially announced. Spec art was put out, though.

Used the coupon at Target.

$12.98 with tax for the 2 film set. Nice.
