Got this in a press release:
please enjoy the attached behind-the-scenes photo of the actress who helped launched the historic franchise -- Jamie Lee Curtis, as she sat down with HALLOWEEN H20 director Steve Miner (r) and moderator Sean Clark (c) for a new commentary track and interview that you'll hear and see starting September 23rd!

Nice, Miner and Curtis actually recording a commentary for H20. It was supposed to be on the DVD years ago, but I guess it never existed and was a misprint.

I was worried they might half-ass things so that pic gives me great relief. This looks like it will be the release that fans had always hoped for.

Yup. This is shaping up to be a "take the day off to go through the whole thing" release. I still plan on using the Zombie H2 disc as a coaster on a hot summer day, with an ice cold drink...

It does suck that this mega-release is the only way to see the original with the damn mono Were they planning another reboot of this, or did Zombie sufficiently kill the franchise stone dead?

Personally, I'm thinking of going with Zombie's H1 for my bourbon, and Zombie's H2 for my beer chaser.

What i want to know is, will all the discs have subtitles? Halloween III and the later movies 6,7,8 cease to have any. Hope they are all new transfers. Anyone have any info on the subtitles, please share!

It looks like they've done some work to clean up the H6 Producers Cut. Collider talked to Malek Akkad:

AKKAD: Yes. I can announce that on the box set we will have the Producer’s Cut, finally. […] It’s been around for so many years and people have bad bootlegs, so I’m really happy that we were able to get the right elements and put it all together. And it looks – the transfers great, the sound is great. I think fans are going to be really happy with it.

Nice. I'm one of those people with a bad bootleg. It's great to finally have a real copy.

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray

They're putting all of the bells and whistles in to this set. I'm shocked that we're actually getting a set not alone with all of the Halloween films, but with all of this extra content and different versions of the movies.

Makes me wish that the Friday the 13th set released last year had this much effort put in to it.

I would hold off feeling bad about it until we actually know the new set has the genuine mono.

YMMV

FYE currently has the Deluxe Edition sitting at $101.49. Use the promo code to "7414" to get 20% off bringing the deal to $81.19. Shipping is free, all you have to pay for is tax.

The set keeps on going in and out of stock on their website to pre-order. You may get an order in, you may not; you just have to keep checking back in. I was able to get a pre-order in around 6:30PM PST.

Does that work with promo codes, though? I would assume it's only for listed price.

I managed to get a pre-order in, and then cancelled my Amazon pre-order afterwards...

Now it's available but they changed the pre-order price to $144.98 About $4 cheaper than Amazon after 20% discount. I think I will keep Amazon because it's very easy to cancel orders through them. How easy is it to cancel orders through FYE? Do they charge now or at the time of shipping?

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray

I'm so freakin' excited about this set. I ordered from SF as soon as it went up so I could get the limited lithograph and I was lucky enough to order one of the signed copies from Dark Delicacies earlier this week. I'll keep the lithograph and the signed set and sell the set I get from SF. This is the home video collection I have been wanting for many, may years. I don't feel bad about splurging a single bit on this one.

Anyone know how limited this limited edition is or if they'll be numbered?

Not numbered, but limited in the sense that they have a 2-3 year contract or so and then after that point you wont see all of these films together in a package such as this.

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray

Well by that logic all of them will be limited, even the standard edition, won't they?

Ended up getting it for $92.58 shipped from Blowitoutahere with their July 4th coupon which is expiring soon.

(no access to their Facebook, the coupon code is there).

Since no one's posted it yet, here's a look at the limited lithograph that comes for those who ordered first (the first 500) over on the Shout! Factory site. It's supposed to be 14" x 36" and arrive in a rolled tube.

Oh man....I will have to search eBay for one of those. That has to be on my media room wall. Keep me in mind if anyone is getting one and won't frame/hang it!

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray

Man, that lithograph.

I bet it goes for $200 soon. I'll be honest, I was kinda planning on selling it to pay for the set. However, once I first saw it, I instantly started looking up frames to hang it in the house. It's likely going to be hung above my main BD shelf.

My wife wouldn't like me to hang a bloody Michael Myers or something else with gore. This however, she will go for. It's beautiful yet haunting. I'm amazed at what they have delivered to us. It's well above and beyond what I was expecting.

I'm shocked that no one has listed it on eBay yet.
