This is 47% off at amazon.ca, it works out to about $86 US dollars, here's a link:

That's a good deal, eh?

Some people on bluray.com have successfully gotten Amazon.com to price match their preorder by e-mailing/calling customer service. Others have gotten denied. For that deal it's certainly worth a shot!

Shouldn't it qualify for free shipping? I thought there was no penalty for shipping to the US from amazon.ca. The successful folks on blu-ray.com have gotten their pre-orders price matched down to $86.08.

Nope. You're still on the hook for shipping. In Europe it's the VAT that you don't get charged.

Well American customers on bluray.com are successfully getting a price match of $86.08, again, it's worth a shot. I'm locked in at $118 so it'd be a huge discount for me.

I sent Amazon an email. Worst case they say no and I cancel and get the Canadian version for $30 less anyway. Either way, Amazon will most likely get my money.

I sent Amazon an email tonight and they already replied. Price matched down to $86, making it just over $92 with taxes. Not too bad.

Worked for me. Thanks.

I had it preordered from Bliwitoutahere for around $92... with this, Amazon is about $90, plus 2 day shipping, and knowing I can deal with Amazon if anything is wrong with it.

I emailed them after seeing this thread update. No reply yet. I didn't threaten to cancel, just pointed out that their .ca site had it for cheaper and asked if they'd price match. Hoping they don't push back.

I just got a reply this morning, they price matched it down to $94.99, which includes the shipping cost, but that still saves me $24 so I'm quite pleased!

Some members on the other site had to try a couple times before getting the price match. If their e-mail didn't work they tried a chat or calling, and eventually got the price match. It depends entirely on which rep you get.

I'll give them a call when I have a chance. I also went to the US product page and filled out the "found cheaper elsewhere", or whatever it's called. We'll see if they do anything when I referenced their own (CDN) site as the cheaper competitor.

I called and they told me that the Canadian Amazon runs independently from the American Amazon. So they couldn't do it.
