ANYTHING signed by both Friedkin and Blatty is a good thing in my book.

The only way I was going to upgrade from the digi book was if original Warner logo would appear this time, but seeing as how Warner replaced the logo on the new Road Warrior disc (both opening & end credits) I doubt that will happen. I can't figure out why they would do that.
Just watched this last night. I'm not even sure that I've seen the entire movie before. Anyway, was the original Warner logo on any DVD release, or was it last seen on VHS and LD. I would like to see it.

It was replaced on the full frame laserdisc remaster that was released years before the dvd, so although I've heard it was on the first dvd, I don't believe it. I'm eventually going to pick up the first laserdisc press to see if it was on it.

I watched it last night but couldn't enjoy it. Linda Blair's head spins around and all I kept thinking about was that the original Warner logo was missing at the beginning.

I hope they do a special edition of part III. If WB doesn't they should hand it over to Scream Factory. Never seen part 2 but love part 3.

it really isn't actually - they just think that just because it's a classic or something they can add any snarky remark or random humor over a film's soundtrack it's funny is getting a bit stale and old hat.
I for one, am not impressed or pleased that they choose 'Night of the Living Dead' - really? REALLY?

Rifftrax is often very funny. You can make fun of anything if you're clever enough, and the Rifftrax guys usually are.
That being said, I think it's clear why they're choosing to riff on Starship Troopers or NOTLD. More people will buy those riffs because the movies are classics.

They aren't funny. But I have never found the guys from Mystery Science Theater 3000 funny either. I would rather watch the bad movies than hear their extremely lame comments about them. I don't mind making fun of movies but have never found their comments laugh-worthy.

One of the new extra features is pretty good, focusing on a lengthy interview and travelogue with William Peter Blatty. It's really only worth it if you somehow had passed on the digibook in the first place.

I've never seen this film on BD but it is a pretty good looking flick. Really love Friedkin's visual from the camera in that era. Just looks so realistic in those settings. Especially love how Iraq looks on there. Glad I got this finally. Now just give me Sorcerer. Then I have his trifecta of amazing filmmaking.

I think I need clarification on what I'm looking for exactly, though perhaps I don't have the original DVD release. I have two snappers, one the later 'version you never knew existed'. I just watched both and they are different. The first starts with the B&W wavy studio buildings (?) shot, but then adds a garish WB 75th anniversary logo. So I imagine I don't own the 'original' dvd release after all. Sorry.

I remember as a kid seeing the logo and hearing the sound effects under it, it scared the crap out of me. I knew I was going to be terrified by what was to follow.
Link to the 1997 dvd release, like I said, I don't think it has this logo
