I've been holding off getting the current release hoping for this. Hopefully it's remastered and not just a repackaging of the current disc. I was sort of hoping for a digibook but the press release makes it sound like a standard release. Oh well.

Not seeing anything in the last 3 months about it under post by others. Unless they've recently confirmed it, I'd still say it's a bad sign it's not being mentioned in the press release.

well the one sheet is sort of just blah, what's an excessive white border going to actually improve anyways...

Writing press releases is a bottom of the totem pole job, staffed largely by kids fresh out of college on their first job. Be glad when everything is spelled correctly.

I wouldn't put much into that WBShop Facebook reply until we hear something more definitive from the studio. Often studios use the word "remastering" to just refer to the fact that they re-did the Blu-ray (with new features, menus, etc.) and haven't touched the transfer at all. It could also mean they've only upgraded the audio and not the video.
Sometimes even the studio doesn't know what's going on...I believe the back cover to the digibook of Unforgiven states that the picture has been remastered, but it hasn't...they're simply referring to the remastering they did for the 2006 Blu-ray release.
Not saying the studio is being intentionally deceptive, but they're not all A/V educated over there...most are just marketing people.

^^^^
That's kind of what I was thinking too when I saw the source was the WBShop page. That seems to be barely one step better than asking someone at Best Buy what's going on.

A Best Buy employee wouldn't know what The Fugitive even is. Heck, they probably wouldn't know what a "Blue Ray" is either.
