Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
Since it appears Warner is going to be doing this more and more in the coming year, I figured I'd start a thread listing all the Double and Triple Packs.
For the most part, Warner has stopped with the Double Packs and is now doing only Triples. Now that they have Paramounts Library they are going to be re-releasing some of Paramounts titles as Double Packs so I will list them here. I had no idea some of these even existed until I researched them. Some of these may be out of print. Pretty weird how some of these older ones are very common while others are near-impossible to find in retail. As far as I know, all the Triples originally came with Slip Covers as well. I think that's it. Feel free to let me know if I'm missing any. I know Wal-Mart has lot of these being exclusive to them I just can't find a list.

Theres another one - triple feature on Western Movies http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg |
Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
You're missing Ocean's 12/13 double feature. Also, Hulk Vs. is Lions Gate, not Warner. And are we counting non-US releases? Because the 4/5 and 6/7 NoES double features haven't been released here yet, only in JP I believe.

Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
How many of these double / triple features offer titles which have never been released to DVD before, as opposed to just repackaging of already-released material?

Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
Actually, a couple of them do have exclusives. Off-hand I know Dr. Giggles and Thirteen Ghosts aren't available individually

Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
It's a bummer, I imagine some of these sets won't be available in Canada as New Line Home Video does not distribute titles up here.
Most of the New Line titles are available but I think they are distributed exclusively by Alliance Home Video in Canada. |
Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
I disagree... a lot were sold in HMV stores

It'd be great if Troy was the theatrical cut, but I'm sure it'll be the same Director's Cut disc.

Maybe New Line and Alliance Canada bypassed the old distribution contracts for these 3 packs? That will be great if we see more of these up here! |
Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
orangerunner, I got my Turtles triple pack in HMV, I think they are under new line

Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
Worth pointing out to people that the Ocean's triple is on sale in a lot of places right now, but Warner has also already announced that a new box set with retrospective extras will be out in 2013.
The Gremlins / Goonies triple is now in wide release, along with a triple of Happy Feet / The Ant Bully / Scooby-Doo. I also believe Body Heat / L.A. Confidential / The Player and Bullitt / The Cincinnati Kid / The Getaway are both OOP. Alphabetizing your list would be nice! I hope to see more studios doing multi-features. I liked them on DVD and especially like them on Blu-Ray. 20th Century Fox has done a bunch, but WB is still leading the pack, and now they have Paramount movies to boot. There are a bunch of Blu-Rays I'm just not compelled to own by themselves, but if I could get them with a couple of others I feel the same way about, it'd be great. |
Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
Any chance we can note which ones only feature one-disc from a two-disc release? The only one I know off-hand is Watchmen from V/Watchmen/Constantine.

Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
Watchmen is (IIRC) the only time where that applies.

Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
How the West Was Won was originally a two disc release

Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion

I sold my singles of those 6 movies for triple what I paid for the Triple packs  |
Re: Warner Double/Triple Features Thread - List and Discussion
I saw the Goonies/Gremlins set at Costco last week. Don't remember the price off the top of my head though.

As far as I know, none. These are all re-packagings of prior solo Blu-rays.
16 Blocks / Last Boy Scout / Last Man Standing has only 2 discs, though it looks like the last 2 were only released as a double feature. OP, please note any change from the original single movie releases if they happen to occur. I hope they keep the discs separate and not try to combine multiple movies on 1 disc and start dropping special features. I used to be anal about only getting separate releases, but money and space are convincing me to be more open. Great thread. |

I'm not sure this is entirely true.

Man, I didn't realize that WB had put out that many triple packs.
