That review is about what I expected. I'd love for this to look incredible, but considering the release history of the film I'm still in shock we're getting a BD at all.

I got that email a couple weeks ago, too. The disc is still showing as 12/4, so I'm just going to hold tight and wait to see what happens.

If you can't wait until 12/4 then you may want to check your nearest FYE... mine had 5 copies (3 dvd, 2 blu) last night at 9.99 and 14.99
Seeing them in store already makes me alot less concerned about that Amazon email so many of us got

I was at the mall earlier today when I saw this post (on my smartphone) and almost ran over to FYE to check. They didn't have it, but they did have several copies of various Godzilla films, including one copy of Megalon. Now, I'm not in this particular FYE location that often, but it seemed the total number of Godzilla DVDs they had available was much higher than it had been in the past. Makes me wonder if all the kerfluffle with Megalon, plus the news of Biollante getting a nice release is creating a renaissance in Godzilla fandom and stores like FYE are responding to that.
And if you're curious, the titles that Classic Media release some years ago in the cardboard packages have been repackaged into regular DVD case (the artwork is the same style). I've seen them at both FYE and Best Buy.

Amazon said mine shipped (I think) and my est. arrival date was 12/6. Funny, I thought my Prime meant I'd get it release day... Oh well, after all this wait what's a few more days?

Best Buy has them in stock. The DVD and BD for the same price as Amazon. $4.99 & $7.99... and that is BB's regular price.

Glad to hear at least a few folks have received theirs, but I'm still high and dry with no info from Amazon. Vaguely annoying considering I live overseas and hoped to pick up it on my trip back home for the holidays.
Dropped Amazon an email about the issue, so we'll see. Worse comes to worse, I could always try a few brick and mortar stores when I hit the states, but I'd prefer to avoid any retail outlet as to not partake in the madness that is parking at a mall/shopping center during the holidays.

Mine has been moved to "shipping soon", though it's now temporarily out of stock. So we'll see what happens. It has a tracking number created and I sent a really pissed off email to Amazon about how shitty they're handling pre-orders (especially placed with Prime) on this. They sent me a $5 credit which is all fine and good but I want my damn blu-ray!

Possibly a coincidence, but a friend has eXistenZ on pre-order and he's also seeing issues with getting it sent, so I'm assuming there's a supply issue with Echo Bridge, perhaps.

That's my thinking as well. Hopefully it's a sign there's a healthy demand for these discs!

Mine is still listed as "Not yet shipped" with no estimated delivery date. Went to Lexington this evening and looked in FYE, Best Buy and K-Mart and they all only had 1-2 copies on DVD no blu-rays!

Fry's in Downers Grove, IL had a couple copies of Blu and DVD. Grabbed the Blu for 7.99.
