What is your favorite Blu ray release so far in 2012 ?
I have a question what has been your favorite blu ray release so far in 2012 and yes i know i know the year has not ended yet and there still more releases. But so far i wanna know what's your favorite been. as for as for me goes, i got marvels the avengers, ET, jaws, Prometheus. they all look great i have not seen Prometheus yet but i cant imagine how great it looks on blu. My favorite release has to be Jaws. Wow that movie looks great in hi def i love what they did to the video how they remaster it , and everything. The same goes for ET but jaws looks like a movie that was made this year just by looking at the video quality. feel free to respond and you can also mention other releases it does not have to be these movies that i have mention. i'm sorry if this been ask before.

This has been a great year for Blu-ray, but if I had to pick one title it would be Halloween III. That movie has seen virtually NO love on every format, so to have a company like Shout! give it the Royal Fucking Treatment is a godsend.

I have to say it's probably Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Complete First Season for me. CBS/Paramount really did an awesome job with restoring the show and it just looks amazing. I really can't wait to get seasons two through seven.
I agree it was pretty damn cool of Shout!/Scream Factory to give this movie the special edition treatment after all the time it's been shit on.

Game Of Thrones: The Complete First Season
runner up: The Avengers
I hope before end of year I can say it is the Hitchcock Masterpiece collection but don't feel very confident that will be the case

I'm going to say They Live early. True it comes out next month, but from the specs, it looks like it will be amazing. Like Halloween III, it's been barebones since the beginning (in this region anyway).

Universal Monsters
Hopefully when the year is all said and done it will actually end up being Criterion's Brazil.

Jaws was a great release but I think I have to give my vote to Avengers. Shouldn't this have been a poll?

For me it's been the Bond 50 collection. But I'm sure it will soon be the Battle Royale Steelbook.

The Indiana Jones films would top my list so far.
Next it probably will be Empire of the Sun and The Dark Knight Rises when they eventually get released

Little Shop of Horrors: The Director's Cut. While it doesn't retain all of the bonus materials from the DVD like the isolated score, it restores Oz's original ending... the ending that should've been attached to the film since day one.
E.T. & Jaws: Fantastic audio and video quality topped with an amazing assortment of bonus material. I just wish E.T. contained the 2002 cut on a seperate disc only for John Williams' isolated live score.
The Nightmare on Elm Street Collection: While the audio and video quality could've been better, Warner has shown love to a franchise they've practically disowned since folding New Line into their studio. It retains most of the bonus materials from past releases plus adding more extras into the mix.
Titanic: 2D and 3D versions are presented here with stellar audio and video quality and an entire disc filled to the brim of bonus material that's both new and old.
