What was/is your most anticipated release of 2012?
With the plethora of great titles that have come already (Jaws, the stellar Criterion releases, some of the classics like The Sting, Deliverance, Disney titles, etc...) to the ones on the very horizon (Indiana Jones Collection, E.T., The Dark Knight Rises, etc...)
What were or is still your most anticipated titles for the year 2012? for me, definitely: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg followed closely by: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg |

Jaws finally getting a release, and a fucking handsome one at that. Runner-up: Death Wish 2/3/4 since I've been dying to get these in widescreen for years. Is: Halloween III - so underrated. Runner up: They Live |

Re: What was/is your most anticipated release of 2012?
Rumors are that THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN (1971) will be released this year. If it is so, then that title takes it for most anticipated release. Followed by the Hitchcock set, THEY LIVE, remastered version of TOTAL RECALL, and Indiana Jones boxset. Oh, and for DVD-only releases, my Holy Grail search for IN SEARCH OF... seems to be over at last, as a Canadian release of that 1970s series will apparently be released in October. Beam me up, Scotty!
For most surprising releases, the Twilight Times Blus of NOTLD 1990 and ENEMY MINE sure take the cake. Not happy about having to shell out almost $80 for those two alone, but I never thought they'd see a 1080p release! |

This would have been a good poll.
The Avengers, but also looking forward to my Hitchcock and Universal Classic Monsters sets. Have Titanic pre-ordered, and want to get Singin' in the Rain and Lawrence of Arabia eventually. Hoping to see TDKR before it leaves theaters so I can have an opinion on it. |

Re: What was/is your most anticipated release of 2012?
So many great sets coming out this year, it's tough to narrow it down.
So here are my "MUST HAVES" for the remainder of this year. The Dark Knight Rises The Avengers Bond 50 Indiana Jones Blade Runner Runners up include the ET Steel, (for which I already have an order placed) The Hitchcock box, for just being way to expensive. |
Re: What was/is your most anticipated release of 2012?
Ah, I forgot about ROSEMARY'S BABY, that one is right up there for sure. Is it confirmed for 2012?
Also, I have seen TITANIC in all its glory and it is spectacular in 1080p, average bitrate is 24 Mbits / sec and the feature consumes the *entire* BD50, no wasted space for the 195 minute movie. |
