Fox Catalog Releases for 2012 and 2013

From Blu-ray.com--

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has revealed that it is preparing a number of exciting Blu-ray releases set to appear on the market in Q4 and early 2013. The studio has confirmed that amongst them is Joseph L. Mankiewicz's epic Cleopatra (1963), which has been out on Blu-ray in Europe for some time now.

Lou Lumenick from the New York Post has also confirmed that the studio is planing to bring to Blu-ray director-approved Blu-ray editions of Danny DeVito's The War of the Roses (1989) and Hoffa (1992). Both releases will apparently be part of Fox's "Signature " series.

In November, Fox also plans to re-release Franklin J. Schaffner's Patton (1970), featuring a new high-definition transfer.

Catalog collections devoted to Robert Mitchum and Denzel Washington are also apparently prepped for release on October 10th.

Perhaps the most exciting news, however, is that Fox is getting ready to revive its terrific Studio Classics line, which started back in the VHS days. According to the New York Post, the fist Blu-ray titles will likely appear sometime in 2013.

Lastly, on October 23rd Fox is also releasing a 3D Blu-ray edition of Alex Proyas' futuristic action thriller I, Robot (2004).
I'm glad to read that titles from the Studio Classics line will be upgraded, but what about the Noir Collection? Laura, Nightmare Alley, Kiss of Death, etc. would be most welcome. I'm curious to see what the Mitchum box will include.

I also like to see Fox bring back the Noir Collection to blu-ray. Beside, the one you mentioned, I like to see.

Cry of the City - Fox have never released this on DVD.
Boomerang! - Hope Fox got the right issue straighted out.

PLEASE no more 3D conversions! I only buy movies shot in actual 3D!

I'm down for the Studio Classics line. I also hope that they revive the Noir Collection. Would love to see those movies on Blu-ray!

Very interested in seeing Studio Classics, and nice that the new Patton transfer is finally coming.

Both THE WAR OF THE ROSES and HOFFA are great films. Why DeVito doesn't direct more (or perhaps studios aren't bankrolling him) is anyone's guess. Reminds me of Penny Marshall, who helmed some great movies and then just vanished from the directorial chair.

Mild interest in Patton and Hoffa. Otherwise, not much exciting news here.

The back-to-back bombs of Death to Smoochy and Duplex pretty much killed his directorial career for a while.

He has a new "apocalyptic thriller" called St. Sebastian scheduled for next year, though.

The Abyss? No? Well, it's only been, what, 12 years so far...and no anamorphic transfer to that groundbreaking film.

Well, so much for that: the Mitchum and Washington sets are DVD-only.

I am still waiting on a The Innocents bluray release. (I'm kind of hoping it isn't a Twilight Time release).

The BFI release is excellent. Unfortunately for some, it's not region free.

One of the best discs in my collection - the inclusion of Clayton's wonderful 'Bespoke Overcoat' short in HD, among many other extras, is a real treat.
