Grosse Point Blank & High Fidelity --> 8.7.12
Anyone find any information on this or High Fidelity? I couldn't find if there would be any extras or any specs...
I really hope so on GPB especially!

I have High Fidelity coming soon and hope to have a review up early next week. Here's hoping all the (limited) extras are intact, especially those deleted scenes.

Pretty much nothin' on Grosse Pointe Blank. High Fidelity carries over most (all?) of the DVD extras.
Despite the star ratings, Grosse Point Blank looks awful, if those screenshots are any indication. High Fidelity is better but underwhelming...could be the JPEG compression mucking things up, though. To be fair, I haven't seen either with my own eyes, although I'm definitely grabbing High Fidelity next week, flawed or not.

Even if Grosse Point Blank was just an anamorphic 480i encode, it would be an improvement over what we have now. Not saying I'll be happy if the transfer sucks, but it's bound to be a pretty decent improvement on what's currently available.

When it comes to catalogs blus that I'm just wanting to see released at this point, I'm ok with it being pretty good for the most part and that's what GBP is.
Scores really vary, but if I go on the 5 star system, I really only feel like the film is BAD when it goes below 3. Again, I'm with you, I wish they all looked GREAT, but being a realist, I know some/many won't.
Although I still have no idea how Anchor Bay could make The Truth About Cats and Dogs, which is easily the worst blu-ray in my collection, look so awful.
It is kind of strangely amusing that Romy and Michele, which isn't a very good film but I like just enough to own, gets great a great pq review and maybe one of the most under-rated films ever, Grosse Pointe Blank, ends up looking very average.

Re: Grosse Point Blank & High Fidelity --> 8.7.12
I went to Best Buy yesterday at noon to pick up both for my girlfriend. They had exactly one copy of Grosse Point Blank and two copies of High Fidelity. I'm glad I went when I did to take advantage of the Upgrade & Save.
