Prometheus - 10/?/12
No set date yet, but Collider posted the specs listed for the French box set, which contains all the Alien films:
Disc 1 (Prometheus 2D) (+150 minutes of bonuses):
On disk:
Cut scenes or alternative (15 mins)
Audio commentary by director (120 mins)
The private records of Peter Weyland, four viral videos (18 mins):
- The offer of Elizabeth Shaw
- Happy Birthday David
- Prometheus Transmission (extended version)
- The conference Weyland in 2023 (long version)
Outside the disk: Second Screen App: App iPad Control Blu-ray Remote which gives access to the archives of Peter Weyland (60 mins):
Pre-production:
- First and final draft of the script (text)
- Sketches of Ridley Scott (photo gallery)
- The Art of Prometheus (photo gallery)
- Pre-visualization (30 mins)
- Tests of Noomi Rapace (15 mins)
- The costume design (photo gallery)
- Tests “look” of the cast (10 mins)
Production:
- Graphic Video Dashboard
- Photographs of the team
- Video of the private pilot
Production and post-release:
- Marketing Gallery
Disc 2 (Prometheus 3D):
The 3D film active
Disc 3 (Bonus complementary Prometheus):
The angry gods: how to make the Prometheus of Ridley Scott, 9 videos (120 mins):
- At the Conquest of Paradise (scenario)
- The engineering upside down (direction & design)
- The manifest human (characters & costumes)
- A nest of demons (creature design)
- A world without green spaces (Pinewood)
- Gains of chance (stunts & action)
- The beginning and end (Iceland)
- The sky on fire (visual effects)
- Prometheus without limits (post-production and theatrical release)
Units of improvement (30 mins):
- Mini-featurettes
The archives of Peter Weyland (60 mins)
**************************************************
Interesting that there's only 15 min of deleted scenes, and no mention of a longer cut. I'd assume a double dip is inevitable.

So what happened to the proposed director's/extended cut?

I'll only buy it if there's a different cut. The theatrical was a huge letdown. But Ridley Scott is know for revisiting his movies and often making them better. That's a lot of great extras though. Hopefully they make it onto the inevitable double dip. Fingers crossed.

The Kingdom of Heaven DC came out a little more than a year after the theatrical cut came to DVD. Hopefully the timeline would be the same here. I haven't seen Prometheus yet but at this point if the DC will be the same level of improvement as it was with KoH, I'm happy to wait for it.

Nothing explicit, no. But if you read Ridley's comments on the cut he assembled for theaters, he heavily implies that it was judiciously trimmed to get the core of the film's ideas across.

Ridley's quote was "This is fundamentally the director’s cut. But there will be half an hour of stuff on the menu because people are so into films—how they’re made, how they’re set up, and the rejections in it. That’s why it’s fascinating. So this will all go on to the menu."
Which people interpreted as an extended edition.

A director's/extended cut as an easter egg? Aside from the third cut of Terminator 2 (and that only featured an extra scene and an alternate ending) on BD/DVD, has that ever been done?
