E.T. coming Fall 2012
And yes, the guns are back. Not sure if they got rid of the digital alterations, some commenter on aintitcool said he saw some CG facial movements.

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
IMHO, this is the final major, Major, MAJOR title to get a Blu-ray release. The cupboard is bare!

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
I'll probably get this. Not my favorite movie ever or anything but it's classic Spielberg and still is deserving of a purchase. I wonder if they'll include both cuts or just the theatrical. Not that I really care about the re-release version anyways just kind of curious.

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
and another 7.1 blu from Universal to boot!
|
Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
Hope they don't fuck up and give us shitty packing like the DVD. A standard blu ray case will be just fine for this.

Can finally upgrade my vhs copy.

Day 2 purchase for me. I am going to wait a day to see how Universal/Spielberg screw it up

As far as packaging, I'm hoping for a digibook option, but will be fine with a standard case. |

Nice!

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
Simple and classy. Unlike the craptacular cover the DVD got.

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
My one hope is that they use the actual logo from when E.T. came out and not the 100th anniversary one. A minor thing, but I prefer it when they keep the studio logos from the time period of the movie.

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
What kind of packaging is that? It better not be the Back to the Future type case we got with that original release.

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
Looks good, one minor nitpick - I was expecting a 100th anniversary slipcover.
Fond memories of this one, I watched it so much the video store owner gave me one of his VHS copies. |

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
A Blu-ray book would be nice for this release.

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
I think the 100th Anniversary slip covers look like shit.

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
So, Jaws & ET both in the fall? I'm down with that.
I've been wanting to show the kids ET, but I guess I'll wait for the BD now. |
Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
Fantastic. And I'm really happy that Spielberg has come to understand that messing up a classic movie with new CGI is a defacement. Day one purchase for me (Jaws, too).

Re: E.T. coming Fall 2012
I might keep my DVD set for the redone version. You'd think with all the space on blu-ray that they could have offered us both.
